We’ve got some new MagicBands to show you!

Earlier this year, Disney stopped offering free MagicBands to hotel guests. Since then, we’ve seen some tech-y other options for those who don’t want to pay for MagicBands — like the new MagicMobile service! But if you’re still a MagicBand fan, there have been LOTS of options (in addition to the normal MagicBands up for grabs) exclusive to resort guests and Annual Passholders. And now, a new collection is here!
Thanks to reader @schreiberjoe on Instagram, we’re able to take a peek at the new Disney Family MagicBand set! These are all a matching red, gray, and white, but with varying text. There’s one for moms…

…and a generic one for the whole family! This would make a great choice if you’re on a trip with grandparents, aunts and uncles, or other extended family.

While these bands are discounted (they’re each $20, while their “comparable value” is at $29.99), they aren’t those $5 MagicBands resort guests can snag. But if you’re planning a family trip and want to match MagicBands, these are a great option! Just keep in mind that these are exclusive to Disney resort guests and Annual Passholders. Those guests will be able to purchase them on My Disney Experience when they book their trip.

If MagicBands aren’t your thing, there are some other options to get ya into the parks. Disney’s new MagicMobile service works like a MagicBand for your phone (or Apple Watch!): you’ll use your digital wallet to tap into the parks, link to PhotoPass photos, and more. And if you don’t want to deal with any tech at all, you can still get a Key to the World card for free at your hotel front desk.

I am SO UPSET how Disney wants to make money on products or services that were FREE but no longer. $5-20 wrist bands that were free but no longer. The Magical Express that was FREE and very convenient but no longer. Just try to get to your Disney hotel from the airport. The inconvenience and the added cost just so Disney can make money on a service that was free but no longer. SHAME ON YOU DISNEY.
You are so brave to tell your stories. I admire your desire to be helpful and honest. Keep it up, many of us rely on you! As to magic bands, another disappointing Disney decision. Magic bands are a tradition and a BIG part of the magic. Picking a new color and waiting for it to arrive in the mail was such fun. When it finally arrived, you knew you were headed to the most magical place on Earth. No more complimentary magic bands or Disney Express: poor decisions on the part of the Disney decision makers! Shame on you Disney!
