Guys, it’s been a RAINY day in Disney World.
We’ve experienced our fair share of stormy Disney days, and we don’t let the weather stop our trips to the parks. But boy can the rain be brutal! Now, you may know that at 1PM, practically everyone in Disney’s Hollywood Studios pauses what they’re doing to try and get a Rise of the Resistance boarding group. Combine that with the rain? You’ll get some MAJOR crowding, as we saw today.
We first noticed the congestion as we walked through Grand Avenue. People were piled inside the tunnel crossing into Galaxy’s Edge!
We made our way inside to see what was going on, and guys — it was PACKED.
Of course, people wanted to stay out of the rain. It’s only natural, right?! They needed a dry spot to pull over and try to snag that boarding group — and it seemed like everyone had the SAME idea as to where.
We’re guessing social distancing was not on people’s minds, and it clearly wasn’t happening in this situation.

While this congested spot didn’t stick around long, it is something you could encounter on your trip to Disney. If social distancing is a concern, be mindful of spots where crowds could gather — especially in the rain! Small shops (or really ANYWHERE with cover) could all look like this. But hey, good luck getting that boarding group. 😉 Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!

I absolutely couldn’t care less about Social Distancing.. however, I also don’t want that Mildew smelling man with no Deodorant that close to me either.
We always make sure to have water shoes, umbrellas and dry clothes so that we can walk around in the rain.
It’s FL. I mean. If you don’t plan for the inevitable…
And… during rain is the best time to get on to stuff.

I may be incorrect but I thought social distancing of six feet with hand washing was presented as the deterrent for Covid spread. . We were told masks were NOT essential if there was distancing. Then we were told if distancing was not possible that masks would serve to slow the spread. Looks like all folks have masks on in pics. And as of several weeks ago three feet was deemed an acceptable distance to slow the spread. I wonder with millions having gained natural immunity, millions being vaccinnated, and updated protocols based on sicence why changes have not been embraced?? (I do realize those with pre-existing conditions and/or were of advanced age were to be more diligent. I myself am in this group.)

So did it appear the major congestion was literally at 1:00 while everyone was trying to get their boarding group? Like, people didn’t want to get their phones wet? And then as soon as that was over they moved on out into the rain?

Disney are you looking at this picture there is no distance . If there are people getting sick the government can close you down . If everyone is vaccinated it would be a different story the exposure is less then it would be greater . The mask is not going to be enough people stay away . Distancing will help the mask and people using common sense .
