UPDATE: The Disney Skyliner has resumed normal operations as of now. We will update again if this changes.
The Disney Skyliner gondolas recently crashed at the station at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
We’ve been updating you live from the Skyliner station, and while we were there, the Skyliner was not in motion. We’re giving you a look at some of the guests that have been stuck in the Disney Skyliner.
A big shoutout to DFB reader @pineapple.kaitlyn on Instagram who shared their experience while stuck in the Disney Skyliner.
Although the crash was at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios station, the entire Disney Skyliner system was affected. This reader was on the EPCOT line on her way to the station at Disney’s Riviera Resort.
She mentioned that the Skyliner was only moving one gondola into the station at a time, so she was moving very slowly. All in all, she spent about 45 minutes stuck on the Skyliner. The gondolas stopped and started over and over again.
Here is a video of the Skyliner pulling into the station at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

You ought to have date and time (dateline) at the beginning of a story like this and follow ups. As a reader I don’t know if this happened this morning or a week ago
Kristin says
Holy cow. I actually never realized how helpful that would be (adding a date to them)! I read this site very frequently I never thought about that! I just now clicked on a list of restaurants that are open right now and it was an article from last year. Is that something you could possibly add to your articles?

The skyliners crashed Thursday April 22
The line was extremely long leaving Hollywood Studios
We rode it multiple times all week, it is a little scary coming into the station it looks like it’s going to hit the car in front of you.

Thank you for the story, but I agree with Rich. People are always asking the dfb to please include a date for each article, and to this the answer has been to find the date in the url. It is buried in that but does not show on our phones, so we have to copy and paste it into an email or notes. For example, what we see is only disneyfoodblog.com. I just copied and pasted that to notes and got this:
https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/04/22/guests-stuck-on-disney-skyliner-following-crash/
It is such a simple request that you date the articles and so frustrating that you won’t.
DFB Sarah says
Hi, Janet. I hear you (and the others who’ve asked). I’ll keep sharing with the management team.
