Disney World has definitely had some high-tech updates lately.
With complimentary MagicBands discontinued, guests were able to instead welcome the use of smartphones as your pass to get around Disney World. Park ticket, room key, mobile payment, ride photos — you name it! Your phone can do a lot with MagicMobile, and now we’re seeing more signs of this change in the parks.
One feature of the new MagicMobile Pass, available on both Apple and Android devices, is the ability to enable automatic ride photo linking. When enabled, you can leave your phone in your pocket (with Bluetooth on) and your ride photos will automatically be linked to your My Disney Experience account.
Today, we noticed that signs have started to pop up around the parks to instruct guests in the process of enabling the ride photo feature. The first one we spotted was over by the queue of Haunted Mansion.
When you scan the QR code, the PhotoPass instructions page pops up. Tap the button to download or open the My Disney Experience app and follow the instructions. You’ll be asked to enable Bluetooth during the process.Â
Then, your ride photos should automatically link at eligible attractions! We spotted a similar sign over by Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Keep in mind, though, some attractions are not yet equipped with this feature. For instance, you still need to tap to snag your picture at the end of Splash Mountain.
We’ll keep an eye out for more signs so stay tuned to DFB for all the updates!

This is awesome! I’ll still use my magicbands but I like having this so I can use older magicbands and still be able to get photos when my long range battery died or may have died (because there’s no way to check battery level til you don’t get your photo)
