World Showcase in EPCOT is the place to be when it comes to snacking!
The Mexico pavilion is one of our favorite places to grab a snack or a margarita in the park — it even took the #4 spot when we ranked the World Showcase pavilions by their snacks! Now, we’re back in the pavilion to try a NEW snack, so let’s see if it’s worth your time and money on your next trip to EPCOT!
We headed over to the counter-service restaurant La Cantina de San Angel for lunch where we noticed something we hadn’t tried before — Fried Plantains. They are on the sides section of the menu, and we figured we’d try them out!
We weren’t initially thrilled with the idea of eating plantains, but we were pleasantly surprised! The reporter who tried them does not personally like plantains, but to them, these actually weren’t bad. If you are a big fan of plantains, this is the snack for you!
The plantains were very cheesy which was an interesting combination with the sweet fruit, but it totally worked! Because they were fried, they had a great texture too. The outside was lightly fried and not too mushy. This is something unique if you are looking for new snacks to try! If this isn’t something you’re interesting in, you can grab a side of chips and guacamole instead.
If these sound appealing, you can grab them now for $4.99. We think this is a pretty fair price for the amount you get, and it’s a simple but fun snack in the Mexico pavilion. We’ll continue to keep you updated on new snacks in Disney World, so stay tuned for more reviews!
