You scream, I scream, we all scream for…ICE CREAM! There are quite a few places in Disney World where you can get some delicious, cold, and refreshing treats including Beaches & Cream Soda Shop and L’Artisan des Glaces.
Time for a Little Trip to Disney’s BoardWalk!
Previously, ice cream fans could also head to Ample Hills Creamery at Disney’s BoardWalk. Ample Hills Creamery closed that location in 2020 after the company filed for bankruptcy. That space at the BoardWalk has since sat closed for quite some time. But now something NEW is coming!!
Earlier this year, we noticed some activity going on in the space that used to be home to Ample Hills Creamery on Disney’s BoardWalk. Back in March, there was a boom lift in front of the store and some people were working on the main signage area.

At the time, we didn’t have any information to indicate whether this was simply part of the process of removing Ample Hills signage from the store or if it was a sign that Disney was making space for something new. But now we’ve got a BIG UPDATE!

A BRAND NEW ice cream store will soon be taking over Ample Hills’ former space!

The new shop will be called Boardwalk Ice Cream.

Official menu information and an opening date have not yet been shared. But, we’ll keep an eye out for more updates!

Hooray! What fantastic news!! The Boardwalk hasn’t been the same since Ample Hills has stood vacant and while I’ll continue to miss Ample Hills (especially the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake!!!) I am SO EXCITED to have ice cream return to the Boardwalk!!
When is Plaza Ice Cream Parlor going to re-open in MK? Sure miss that place.
Now just add some sweets and candy so we can have a sweet shop on the Boardwalk (like Seashore Sweets used to be)!
I was told it will open at 3pm today .It will have Edy’s brand ice cream. They were putting the social distance marks outside of it at noon.
Does Disney need all the ice cream shops it seems like it just doesn’t stay very long . Expensive ice cream it is not for everyone . I would try it ones but if it is $10.00 per person it is what people would not send there money .Maybe a dinner yes but desert not sure .
Could they get more generic and unimaginative with that sign? Maybe it’s a “placeholder” for the real one.
Not too many flavors on the menu. I miss Ample Hills.

We’ve always loved Ample Hills Creamery. We went to the new Boardwalk Ice Cream and there weren’t any customers inside, and for good reason. The selections were minimal and what we had was terrible, worse than generic store brand ice cream. No wonder it was empy.
