Even though it’s not opening until next year, we’re getting excited for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser!
This “hotel” is actually more of a 2-night experience, and it will throw guests straight into the middle of their very own Star Wars adventure. There will be cool restaurants, a lightsaber training experience, and SO much more. And it all sounds like a ton of fun!
But while this may be a Star Wars fan’s dream come true, it’s NOT for everyone. For starters, the 2 nights you’re onboard the Halcyon (that’s the fancy ship you’ll be staying on) are generally dedicated exclusively to Star Wars activities onboard. Although there will be an escape to Hollywood Studios.
Of course, we wanted to figure out exactly WHO would be willing to splurge for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. So we did what we do best here at DFB: asked our readers on Instagram! At the time we conducted the poll, Disney hadn’t yet shared any sample pricing details, but our readers did expect that the Star Wars hotel would be QUITE PRICY!
Here’s what you said when asked if you planned on staying at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser:
That’s right: over half of our readers said they didn’t plan on staying at Galactic Starcruiser when it opens! Now, this could have a lot to do with the restricted activities and suspected priciness…or maybe this experience is better suited for MEGA Star Wars fans. Either way, it doesn’t look like a TON of people will be itching to stay here!
Now, this could work out in Disney’s favor. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a bit on the small side for a Disney hotel, and the website notes it is home to 100 guest rooms, so it likely won’t have the same type of availability as other resorts. And even with 58% of our readers saying they’d pass on a visit here, we’re guessing this hotel will book FAST.
As we mentioned, our Instagram poll above was conducted before Disney released sample pricing details. Disney has now shared some sample pricing details. And, just as our readers guessed, it’s pretty PRICEY. Note that the actual price of your trip will depend on your departure date, the number of guests in your cabin, and the type of cabin you choose.
The rates for a simple standard cabin for departure dates most weeknights from August 20th, 2022 through September 17th, 2022, start at $1,209 per guest per night for 2 guests per cabin. The price starts at $889 per guest per night for those staying with 3 guests in a cabin (2 adults and 1 child). For guests staying with 3 adults and 1 child in a cabin, the sample pricing starts at $749 per guest per night.
In other words, a stay at the Star Wars hotel won’t be cheap! But, there are a number of things included in that cost including a ticket to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and more.
Click here to see what our readers had to say as a first reaction to these prices!
Bookings for the Star Wars hotel will begin early for select guests, while general reservations will open later in October. The hotel itself is set to open in March of 2022!

Are you planning on staying at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser? Let us know in the comments!
Denise says
This would be a dream come true for my husband, and I would, of course, be more than happy to accompany him!!
Toni Larkin says
It would be a one time thing, but yes, I would like to stay
Kathy Zienert says
I’m thinking that I would not want to stay there, whatever the cost, because, despite what will be the best of immersive experiences, I don’t think I could handle not having an actual window to look outdoors in the real world.
Diane C. Weslosky says
I don’t think so. We love the Beach Club Area so I think it won’t be for us.
David Lomas says
Nope. Not a fan.
Linda says
As much as I LOVE Star Wars, I don’t think it would be my cup of tea. Way too pricey.
Charlie says
I will do it!
Susie says
I’m planning on staying hopeful that it’s not priced so that I can afford to experience it at least once.
Major Peace says
Since Disney new philosophy is to cater to the upper class and have fewer people spending more money, I see this is only the beginning. I really don’t think this is what Mr. Disney had in mind.
Heather says
I would definitely book this if it includes a boarding pass to Rise of the Resistance and a reservation at Olga’s. Maybe some extra magic hours for guests to build a droid and/or lightsaber.
Cynthia Palmieri says
I can’t even get into Rise of Resistance, so there is no sense in trying for this. Let those who are Treckies enjoy. I will stay anywhere else.
Angelique DuVois says
Im a SW fan but I’m thrifty and I dont spend alot of money to just b at a hotel..nada
Richard Daniel says
I’m down with it. In fact, if DFB wants a review and can set me up with a room then I’ll be happy to oblige 🥳
Sherri says
If the price isn’t too bad I would book this for two night.
Darl says
I’m sure it will be in the price range of the other Deluxe Resorts like the Grand Floridian and Boardwalk which begin around $600- $800 per night depending on the time of year.
Bethany says
I can certainly see how this wouldn’t be for everyone. But, I’m planning on at least one trip, one experience. My partner and I have discussed the possibility of combining this with another trip.
Tony says
I consider myself a Star Wars fan but not a fanatic. For example, I don’t have a room devoted to Star Wars as a friend does! But if I can afford it I’ll stay. I liken the Star Wars hotel to a two day cruise. May the force be with you.
Shannon Alward says
I LOVE Star Wars, and I would enjoy seeing the hotel or eating at the restaurant, but I don’t like the idea that you can’t leave and can really only do Star Wars things for two days. I doubt I would stay here because of that.
Jennifer says
No! we have been members of everything Disney since the the beginning of each new program, club etc. But truthfully they are so expensive they are pricing us out of everything. The mission of Walt Disney has escaped the current “Management”. It is no longer affordable for us to have a place for our children to play and believe in magic. The company philosophy has change to “how can we get more money”. Soon it will be a club for the 1% and the rest of us that helped “Management” get their golden retirement packages and McMansions will be left to pound sand. Sucks really, my kids and grand kids have been raise to love all the characters and the magic of the original founders… Walt is surely rolling in his grave.
DanielleV says
Again I don’t know where I continuously miss out on these surveys I’m on this page like every single day. I definitely plan on staying at the hotel I just don’t understand why the cost is so high I have yet to read anything to justify the high cost.
Anthony says
Growing up in the sixties. I always wanted to be an astronaut. That did not happen. So, I became a spaceshot instead. Yes, by all means count me in.
DFB Sarah says
DanielleV, usually we ask these questions in our InstaStories or on Facebook.
Wendolyn Krauss says
It’s my hope to purchase the experience for my sons 40th birthday even though it will be past his day when it opens, as he’s a huge fan of Star Wars to the point of naming his son GL, but for myself, probably not ! But I’m excited for my son and I’ve been an annual Passholders for yrs because I love Disney
Jessica says
Yes, absolutely yes! I was born the year of Star Wars (1977) and my daughter is a huge Rey fan. Have to do this at least once!
Essie says
My older nephew would love this, but I could never afford o stay here.
Mike says
Not for me, between the price would be out of this world to stay , maybe have a meal there but not stay in the hotel. And look around the place. Im staying at the wilderness lodge in May 2022 always wanted to stay, also stayed at the Polynesian and Animal Kingdom , Yacht Resort and a few other places on Disney property
Andy Sullenberger says
How many people responded to your poll and of the # of responding how does it compare to your other polls?
Donna Edgar says
We will certainly stay if we are able to next May when we are planning a long vacation to FL.
Kate says
I have the issue of taking my son who would LOVE it and would really enjoy but then what do the rest of the party do? That’s two days he is busy doing stuff he loves and the rest of us pick the park he least interested in and go there then have a pool day? So we can get family pictures take at the Magic Kingdom? Not to mention paying for a hotel room for him in addition to the experience. I’m still trying to figure out how to work this out.
Ken says
Not for me….
JavaKitty says
I agree with Jennifer, Shannon, and Kathy. Personally, I need to see the sun and I don’t care much for confined dark spaces, so this is not a draw for me. Ditto for missing out on other park activities for two days, I wouldn’t care for that either. But kudos to any Star Wars fan that wants to try!
DFB Sarah says
Kate, it sounds like you might have a solution. You would need two separate reservations — one for Galactic Starcruiser for your son and one for the rest of your party on those two days. But then, if you planned to extend beyond those two days, I think you’d also need a third reservation for all of you, or you may be able just to buy him a park ticket for the day(s) after his Starcruiser experience and have him stay in the room you booked for the rest of you. When booking begins for Starcruiser, you may want to try to chat or speak with a Cast Member to see what they recommend at that time.
Scott says
Disney is beginning to price many of us out who have spent thousands and thousands of dollars over the years. You can bet the Galactic Starcruiser will be very costly. Even parking your car at a Disney Resort your staying at will cost you an additional $29 a day! I love Disney but they are becoming very greedy, just look at this recent Halloween event.
