Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Merchandise Update
Discovery Trading Company
As you’re getting your packing list together before heading to Disney World, you’ll need to make sure you’re adding the cutest accessories to your suitcase. And, you can pack kids’ socks inspired by Joy and Sadness…
…as well as the Yeti from Expedition Everest to make for an extra adventurous outfit.
And, you can even score a deal on select novelty socks where you can buy them for $11 each when you buy two, or just the regular $14.99 price on their own.
Plus, while you’re at the Discovery Trading Company, you can also celebrate the debut of Cruella with the fashionable Cruella Citizen Watch.
The brand new Tinker Bell Dooney & Bourke collection we spotted in the Magic Kingdom was in the Animal Kingdom as well with the Tote for $298, Satchel Bag for $268, Crossbody Bag for $198, and MagicBand for $48.
Speaking of MagicBands… .
Riverside Depot
We were able to see another spot with the increased MagicBand price that has arrived all across the Disney World Resort.
Each of the levels of MagicBands have received a $5 addition…
…as the base price now sitting at $19.99, along with themed bands at $29.99…
…and limited edition bands at $34.99.
We also spotted an adorable Orange Bird Pop Socket for $14.99 as EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival continues in EPCOT!
As we made our way around the park, we spotted a few new items at DinoRama’s small merchandise kiosk too!
Shop Till You’re Dizzy
When there are new pins, we’re on the scope for anywhere we can add them to our collection! And, Shop Till You’re Dizzy had a few cuties on the shelves…
…as guests could fall in love with not one, but TWO 101 Dalmatians Pins…
…and the Mad Hatter Pin, which is really making us want some Unbirthday Cake.
But, we still have more to see and talk about, so let’s keep moving!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Construction Update
Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures
While some spots around Disney World have gotten rid of a few health and safety measures, Chester and Hester’s has distancing markers now placed around the back side of the store!
However, some spots haven’t seen any changes at all.
Animal Kingdom Attractions
Although many attractions have also started making changes, rides like the Kilimanjaro Safaris still have the dividers up on the cars…
…while It’s Tough to Be a Bug also had the same empty seats between parties policy.
Expedition Everest received a bit of a tweak with the addition of a new banner that reads “Himalayan Escapes welcomes Expedition Everest.”
We LOVE seeing the little details throughout the parks that pull you into the scenery more!
Social Distancing Signs
As distancing measures continue to be reduced around Disney World, guests are no longer required to stand 6 feet apart. The health and safety signs locating around Disney’s Animal Kingdom have started to receive that update as white tape was placed over the original “6 feet” indicator.
Not every sign has received the update, though, so we’ll have to check back for more widely placed updates in Disney World!
Relaxation Stations
As Disney World only permits guests to be maskless outdoors now, some of the Relaxation Stations around the parks have begun to close to guests.
Over at Pizzafari, there’s a sign indicating that the restaurant is no longer open as a maskless location to guests and will be closed until further notice.
We’ll keep you updated on all the other changes coming to the parks as well!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Crowd Update
Wait Times
There was a pretty ride range of wait times around the parks as some attractions saw decreases and increases at various rides like the Kali River Rapids at 20 minutes and Kilimanjaro Safaris at 20 minutes.
Just above them, we also saw waits at Dinosaur at 25 minutes…
…and Expedition Everest at 25 minutes too.
But, there were high waits over in Pandora at the Na’vi River Journey at 40 minutes and Flight of Passage at 60 minutes.
Well, that’s all for this What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We’ll catch you next time for more updates. And, if you have any questions about your upcoming Disney vacation, let us know so we can help you find the answers!
