Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (a.k.a. the Star Wars Hotel that isn’t actually a hotel) will be opening in 2022!
So far, we’ve gotten a look at some of the characters you’ll meet during your intergalactic journey, a peek at the “real” lightsaber guests will get to check out there, and an update on some signage coming to the hotel. But what does the construction at the actual hotel look like right now? How are things coming together? We’ve got an update and are sharing it all with you!
Recently, bioreconstruct (@bioreconstruct on Twitter) posted a series of arial photos of the construction area surrounding Galactic Starcruiser. Here’s a look at the hotel from a bit of a distance.
In the photo below you can see part of the entrance to the Galactic Starcruiser experience (on the left side), what appears to be a large show building (likely where many activities will be located, like lightsaber training), and a building in the back with windows that appears to be for the guest cabins.
Here’s another look at the building from a different view. It looks like the entrance/drop-off area is coming together and that the main buildings are also fairly complete at least from what we can tell from the outside. It looks like quite a lot of landscaping is also now in place in various spots surrounding the hotel.
One of the things guests are supposed to be able to do as part of the Galactic Starcruiser experience is take an excursion trip over to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But, you won’t just be traveling there by a regular car or bus. Instead, guests will be transported through a specially themed vehicle.
The photo below shows what appears to be the docking area for these transport ships at the hotel.
And in the photo below you can see what appears to be some construction going on in the area behind Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It’s believed that this will be the transport shuttle terminal area where the transport ships will pull up and where guests will be able to then go into Galaxy’s Edge.
And that’s a look at how things look like now on the construction for the Star Wars Hotel.
Reservations for the Star Wars Hotel experience still aren’t available, but we’ll definitely be on the lookout for more updates on that. And we’ll keep an eye out for more construction updates or other information about the experiences we’ll get to enjoy when Galactic Starcruiser opens. Stay tuned for more information!

Sorry, I am just not getting it. Having been thru Disney Institute and learned about how effective Disney has been in maximizing transition zones, I just don’t see that level of detail at this new hotel experience. Why doe the building not look like the Halcyon on the outside, especially on the side that the guests can see as they drive up. It just does not look even close to what it should. The transport bay to Star Wars Land from the hotel should also be heavily themed, and off the ground. I envisioned Disney using a transport similar to the high lift transports used at some of the major airports between terminals, only heavily themed with opaque window appliqués and visual 3-d window displays for the occupants. If it is supposed to be like a Disney Cruise Line adventure, the adventure starts when you enter the grounds, and then increases as you proceed into the terminal, up the escalator and thru the entry portal. I am not seeing any of this. Where is the pre-stage show for guests when the arrive, either by car or Disney transport. The drive up does not look Disney awe inspiring at all.

I agree with Ken ^. Just looks like a boring box and I have no desire to pay that kind of cash for a box experience.
