It might be June, but we’ve got Halloween on the mind!
This morning, Disney dropped a BUNCH of news about the brand new Disney After Hours BOO Bash that is replacing Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year. We now know more about event dates and tickets, but we ALSO got some exciting updates about decorations for the festivities!
As you might know, October 1st is Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary and the first day of the 18-month “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” event. Of course, that day is sitting right in the middle of the Halloween season so what kind of decorations will we see: Anniversary ones or Halloween ones?
The answer is BOTH. We’ve gotten pretty used to seeing those cute Mickey pumpkins as the main feature of Halloween decorations in Magic Kingdom, but this year, the decor is getting a revamp!
Disney announced that the decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. will receive “a magical transformation” for the events in October as the 50th celebrations begin. Walt Disney Imagineering teamed up with the Walt Disney World Resort Holiday Services team to BLEND the Halloweentime vibes with the story of Cinderella — featuring special pumpkin coach decorations that will add to the park’s sparkling “EARidescence” decor.
50th Anniversary celebrations AND Halloween celebrations at the same time!? That’s a lot to take in! We’re SO excited to see what they will look like. We’re bringing you a LOT more news about Disney After Hours BOO Bash, so stay tuned!

So does this mean for the earlier parties in Aug and Sept their will not be decorations ?
Carol says
It’s been years since I’ve been to Disney, the kids are grown and now have kiddos of their own.
We are planning a trip with the kids and grandchildren for October, we can’t wait to see all the decorations and the smiles on the grandkids little faces.
DFB Sarah says
HC, we’d expect to see decor for the earlier parties, too, but we’ll have to see how that shakes out when that time rolls around.
