We’ve seen a number of changes made in Disney World recently when it comes to face mask policies, social distancing policies, and more.
Now, Disney has made another BIG change when it comes to masks in the parks.
According a recent update on the Walt Disney World website, changes will be made to certain mask policies and distancing procedures soon. Note that all of these changes are set to take place starting June 15th.
Masks
When it comes to masks, beginning on June 15th, masks will become optional for fully vaccinated guests in most areas in Disney World.
Face masks will, however, continue to be required for all guests (including vaccinated guests) on Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and the Disney Skyliner.
Disney will not be requiring proof of vaccination. But, Disney does note that they expect guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face masks in all indoor locations, and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation.
Keep in mind that these changes will NOT take place until June 15. Guests must continue to comply with Disney’s existing face mask policy until then.
Social Distancing
In terms of social distancing, Disney notes that they will be relaxing distancing guidelines. They note that this will be visible in places like queues, shops, restaurants, attraction boarding, transportation and our theaters.
Some experiences and entertainment may, however, continue to operate with limited capacity or be temporarily unavailable.
And Disney notes that while they’re not quite ready to bring everything back yet, they “look forward to the day when Disney pals and princesses are able to hug once again.”
Check out more about this changes below.
This is what is currently posted on Disney World’s website. But, of course, rules are always subject to change in the future.
Cleaning
In terms of cleaning, Disney notes that they “will continue the high standards for cleanliness and sanitation” they’ve set for themselves. Cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer stations will continue to be available.Â
We’ll keep an eye out for any more changes and let you know what we find.

I have a three year old grandson that cannot wear the mask at all. There are 9 of my family members that have a trip scheduled for WDW. If they don’t drop the mask restriction everywhere. We cannot go and will cancel our vacation there. We will find somewhere else to go. This is a very big deal.
I can’t even imagine strapping a mask to a toddler on transport after an exhausting day when he cannot tolerate one. We have medical reasons as to why he cannot wear a mask, but will not discuss them one a website such as this.

So, now the anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers will be wandering about the parks maskless because Disney “expects Guests who are not fully-vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings”? I have no such expectations.

Great news although a week late for our vacation that ended today. Disney is giving the choice back to individuals and should have done so weeks ago. DFB does it’s best to show Disney in the best possible light but wearing masks in summer weather is miserable. Rides like Frozen and Kilimanjaro with very poor quality shields between rows really diminishes the quality of the experience especially for the little ones unless you’re in the front row.

@Kathleen Johnson, Disney does not allow you to not wear your mask for any reason when it is required (like they are saying here on transportation), even medical reasons. You may have to change your vacation plans.
