It’s been a weekend full of news in Disney World with refurbishments continuing in the parks, ‘Ohana noodles returning (thank goodness), and the brand new mask policy that will be coming to the parks soon.
Travel is picking up again in Orlando, and the parks are looking more and more normal. And today, we’re giving you proof that the summer crowds have arrived at Disney World from what we saw over the weekend!
Speaking of normal, summer crowds have began to return back to the way we’ve seen them in the past, even though there is still limited capacity in place. Gone are the days of shorter lines as first few weeks of summer vacation kick off with multiple families returning to the parks.
Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we saw very long lines at popular attractions like Toy Story Mania leading guests out of the land…
…and high wait times at Tower of Terror with 50 minutes…
…and at Rock ‘N Roller Coaster with 50 minutes as well. Physical distancing markers are starting to be removed in queues around Disney World, so the lines won’t be as spread out as we’re used to.
The usually quiet Alien Swirling Saucers even got a bit busier than usual this weekend!
If you plan on heading to Disney World for summer, you’re probably going to want to plan your day accordingly! More crowds means longer waits usually (and it might switch up where you head to first)!
Disney World has announced it will continue to increase capacity over time, so we can expect the summer crowds to grow. We’ll continue to keep you updated on the latest Disney news, so stay tuned!

We were there last week and the lines were crazy. Also each park opened up 40 minutes before their opening time and the app would not report wait times until the official open time. Slinky Dog often had an 80 minute wait at 9 am. We didn’t figure out the 40 minute early opening until we were there 3 days an thought we were early only to find out they were already open. Bussing didn’t seem to be aware of this and often didn’t get us there until it was too late even if we arrived at the bus stop 2 hours before opening (only one day we did that – EPCOT). The full day we dedicated to EPCOT we only rode Soarin’ and Nemo. The lines were just too long for anything else and we lost the advantage when Test Track never opened.
