We’ve been keeping a close eye on the construction over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
The hotel is currently undergoing a major reimagining that involves changes to the entrance, monorail station, and even guest rooms. Recently, we’ve seen furniture being moved in as work progresses on the new rooftop. And now, we’ve got another update for ya!
Previously, the main entrance’s new rooftop element was sitting on the ground while the finishing touches were added. But now, it’s ON the building!
While there’s clearly more work to be done, the new main entrance is taking shape. We can even see that paneling that’ll add a pop of color to the exterior.
If ya need a reminder, here’s what the finished product will look like!
The construction is due to wrap up this summer, and we’ll keep you posted as we get closer to the finished product! As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news.

It all looks great, but keep in mind, there is not a lot of open space in front of the Poly… for that long shot view out front. Las I saw, that was the designated as handicapped parking area. And when you add in the monorail line, this interesting looking front will be placed in the area formerly used as the bus lane. To stand out front to see what is depicted will not be in the Normal area where guests will be able to even see it. Guests arriving by car will be under the Monorail lines so the whole revamp won’t even be seen by arriving guests. Too bad

I am wondering if they are going to refurbish the vacation club rooms. They were very nice, but not the same as the regular rooms. If they do I hope they add drawers or closets! That was the one thing we noticed staying there – no place to put our clothes except the floor! 🙂

Randi, I’ve heard that about the DVC rooms from others. No word from Disney (as far as I know) about the DVC rooms being renovated. They’ve been open throughout the refurb to the standard rooms, so perhaps if there will be changes, we’ll hear about them as the rest of the Resort reopens later this summer. We’ll update if Disney announces anything.
