Disney World is getting back to “normal” again in many ways, and we’ve seen a bunch of restaurants reopen lately!
Not only are plenty of popular restaurants reopening like ‘Ohana and Tusker House character dining, but there are also some new ones coming to Disney World! We’ve already seen a brand new gelato stand in EPCOT, and we have an opening date for the new creperie, but now one ice cream company will be opening up a NEW location in Disney World!
Salt & Straw Ice Cream recently teased that they would be opening up at a new location on their Instagram, and now we know that they are officially opening up an ice cream shop in Disney World! The new location will be at Disney Springs and is set to open next year.
CEO and cofounder Kim Malek shared, “It’s a dream come true for our little Portland, Oregon ice cream company to have the opportunity to expand our relationship with Disney and open at Disney Springs next year. We love to use ice cream to remix flavors you already know and love while exploring food trends, social issues and small, local makers. It’s so exciting to bring our unique combination of comfort and adventure to the big stage at Disney World.”
Salt & Straw currently has a location in Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort and also has some locations in Florida, but this is their first location in Disney World. The ice cream joint is known for their handmade and unique flavors like Turkey, Spiked Eggnog, and more!
At Salt & Straw’s Disney World location, guests will get to enjoy “small batch, hand-churned ice cream.” The Company actually creates unique menus in each city that change every four to six weeks, so we can’t wait to see what flavors become available at this spot.
So far, Salt & Straw has said that the flavors that will be available at the Disney Springs location will include favorites like Honey Lavender and Chocolate Gooey Brownie, along with unique flavors specific to Florida including The Salty Donut Guava & Cheese and Panther Coffee Chocolate Tres Leches.
What will the new location look like? Well, Salt & Straw will be working with their longtime partner, Osmose Design, on the design of the store. Osmose Design’s principal and owner, Andee Hess, has shared that they were “inspired to go really BIG  with an exterior facade that screams ice cream.”
This is some exciting news for ice cream fans! We’ll keep you updated on any additional details we learn about Salt & Straw’s new location, so stay tuned for more.
