Fireworks shows are returning to Disney World starting July 1st!
That magical feeling of standing on Main Street, U.S.A., watching the breathtaking fireworks light up the sky with Disney music playing in the background will soon be here again…yeah, we’re honestly tearing up just thinking about it! So, which fireworks shows have been confirmed to be returning, and which don’t have a return date yet? We’ve got the list for ya right here!
Confirmed Disney World Fireworks Shows
Magic Kingdom
First up is the Magic Kingdom fireworks show, Happily Ever After, which will return to the park on July 1st!
You can watch the show — which includes lights and projections on Cinderella Castle along with some spectacular fireworks — from anywhere on Main Street, U.S.A., around the front of the castle, and other spots in the park.

EPCOT
Over in EPCOT, the EPCOT Forever fireworks show, will be coming back to World Showcase Lagoon on July 1st!
You’ll be able to see this show from anywhere around the World Showcase, but if you want a clear view of some of this show’s special elements, you’ll want to be closer to the water.

Future Shows
But that’s not all the fireworks news that we have! Disney has revealed that 2 NEW fireworks shows will debut in the parks on October 1st as part of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebrations and we are in for a TREAT!
In Magic Kingdom, a brand new fireworks show called Disney Enchantment will take to Cinderella Castle AND Main Street, U.S.A.
The new show will feature “music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.”

And, the moment we’ve been waiting for at EPCOT is finally here — Disney has announced that EPCOT’s NEW fireworks show, Harmonious, will debut in EPCOT on October 1st as well.
During this show, guests will get to enjoy new fireworks, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving lasers, fountains, and more all set to reimagined classic Disney songs.

Special Event Fireworks
What about special event fireworks like fireworks for the 4th of July or other events? Disney has not provided any information regarding this yet. So far, on the Disney World calendar, there is a showtime listed for Happily Ever After on July 4th.
So, it seems likely that Disney will just stick with the Happily Ever After fireworks on that date, rather than putting on a special 4th of July display, but Disney has not yet made an official statement on that.
What about themed fireworks for Disney’s new Halloween event, Disney After Hours BOO BASH? At the moment, Disney’s description of the special decor and events guests can expect at BOO BASH does not include specialty fireworks.
Disney has not yet shared fireworks hours for August, when the BOO BASH parties begin. We expect guests at the After Hours event will be able to enjoy fireworks, but they may be the regular Happily Ever After fireworks. Disney has not yet made any official statement on that yet however, so we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Fireworks Shows That Are NOT Confirmed to Return to Disney World
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is a nighttime show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios dedicated to all the Star Wars fans out there. But, it may be a little longer before this show makes its return to the park, as Disney has not yet announced a return date for Galactic Spectacular.
There is also not a return date for Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios just yet.
Earlier this year, we shared a look at how Fantasmic‘s show area had been drained of water. We also saw that some of the older, faded Fantasmic posters had been replaced with newer, more vibrant ones. We certainly hope to hear some updates about this show soon!
During the 50th Anniversary, the Tower of Terror will transform however into a beacon of magic and light with some special effects.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Over at Animal Kingdom, Rivers of Light closed last year and was reportedly set to close permanently. In fact, it was later removed from the Animal Kingdom park map.
However, Disney has shared that a new daytime show will be coming to the park on October 1st called Disney KiteTails! You’ll be able to see it at the Discovery River Amphitheater during the day.
The show will feature elaborate 3-D kites that are shaped like popular Disney characters over the river, performers flying windcatchers and kites, and classic Disney songs.

Though the Tree of Life Awakening is not technically a fireworks show, it was one of the main nighttime experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We got to see a glimpse of it again during the holidays last year, but on October 1st we’ll get to see something NEW at the Tree of Life as part of the 50th Anniversary.
During the 50th Anniversary, you’ll find magical fireflies inhabiting the Tree of Life. You can see some concept art for that above.
And that’s a basic look and what fireworks shows have been and have not been confirmed for a return to Disney World. Of course, things could continue to change and Disney could have some big announcements up their sleeves. We’ll be sure to look for more updates and keep you updated.
