We’ve seen quite a few menu changes in Disney World recently with the announcements of restaurants reopening.
When ‘Ohana’s reopening was announced, we noticed our beloved noodles weren’t on the menu along with several other changes (don’t worry, the noodles are back now!). Citricos was just announced to be reopening with a whole new menu to go along with its reimagining. And now, another favorite Disney restaurant might not have one of its most beloved comfort foods on the menu when it reopens its doors!
Trail’s End at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort was just announced to be reopening on July 17th.
Disney shared some of the menu offerings, but we noticed that a certain dinner staple was not mentioned…the fried chicken! WHERE IS THE FRIED CHICKEN?!
As of right now, Fried Chicken is not listed on the online menu.
The Disney announcement said “Dinner at Trail’s End is a rootin’ tootin’ good time that starts with hushpuppies and skillet cornbread with a chopped garden salad for the table. The family-style Smokehouse Skillet comes with pecan-smoked brisket, rotisserie chicken, andouille sausage, fingerlings potatoes, green beans, and buttered corn on the cob. Pork spare ribs, peel n’ eat shrimp, and cornbread-crusted salmon are available as tasty add-ons to your meal.”
Many of our readers have reached out in concern that only rotisserie chicken is on the menu. And if we had to choose between the two, we’re picking fried EVERY. TIME. For now, we just have to hope it’ll make its way onto the menu! We’ll update you as soon as we hear anything fried chicken-related, so stay tuned to DFB!

I WANT MY FRIED CHICKEN, DISNEY!
Mary Jo Honeycutt says
PJ’s qs next door still has fried chicken on the menu. Same kitchen I think. 🤔
Beth says
Bring back fried chicken and the strawberry shortcake!!!!!
Elizabeth says
I agree with Mary Jo Honeycutt – P&J’s take-out has had fried chicken all along, and all the restaurants in that building have always shared a kitchen. The fried chicken at P&Js is the fried chicken you used to get at Trail’s End is the fried chicken you used to get at Hoop-de-Doo. It makes no sense to keep it at P&Js and not bring it back to Trail’s End. I hope this doesn’t mean they’ll take it away from P&Js!

I suspect fried chicken was removed because of the US chicken shortage.
Tom Gagne says
Yes, please bring back the chicken
