It’s been almost one year since Disney World reopened to guests and things are starting to look a whole lot more “normal.”
Park hopping has been back since the new year, we’ve seen more fan-favorite restaurants announce their reopening dates, popular spots like Casey’s Corner are back, and Disney just keeps on releasing exciting news. And, today they’re finally answering the elusive question — will the Disney Dining Plan come back to Disney World?
Today, Disney announced they will begin offering the new Early Theme Park Entry perk for Disney World Resort hotel guests on October 1st, and in the announcement, they confirmed that Disney Dining Plan Packages WILL return!
That’s right, the beloved dining plan is coming BACK, baby! Disney has yet to announce an official update on the timeline for the perks return, but fans can rest assured knowing that they will be coming back.
Disney also shared that they will be continuing to reopen more dining locations in the resorts, so there seem to be many more Disney food updates to come!
So, what else is set to reopen or come back to Disney World soon? So far, Disney has announced that ‘Ohana, Citricos (with a new Mary Poppins Returns look), Trail’s End Restaurant, Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, and Dino Diner will all be reopening soon.
Additionally, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be reopening soon.
Fireworks will be coming back to Disney World tomorrow (July 1st) with EPCOT Forever in EPCOT and Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom. And within the past few weeks we’ve seen arcades start to reopen, self-serve condiments become available again, and more changes made.

Excited about the Dining plan returning. I like the fact that everything is paid for in advance.

Now if Park Hopping was back to normal and not this “After 2pm” rediculousness.
And if they would just open up the EPCOT monorail that would be great.
Not to mention the fact that resort rooms are impossible to find because only a miniscule amount of resorts are opened back up.
Rose Bickford says
Yes, yes, yes for the Dining Plan. Saves time and money. Thank you for your blog.
Patricia says
So excited for the Dinning plan returning.
Paula Tylus says
I think it’s really a shame that the monorail at the Polynesian and the Epcot monorail are still not operating. We purposely booked the Polynesian with the intent of using the monorail and now we can’t use it. I hear you repeatedly say to be nice to the cast members but I have to say I feel very mistreated with the way this vacation is turning. I think you may want to give the message to Disney to be nice to their guests!!
Linda says

I keep hearing there is an update on the dinning plan for months now but we know it’s coming the actual update would be a date when this will be returning.
Nell Bozard says
This was announced in June 2021. So we are still waiting on firm date. Is there no further update!
Mark Faron says
This is “OLD,” news!
How’s about a real update on the dining plan?! It’s been months. I know Disney likes to be the King of holdouts, but this is ridiculous.
Donna says
I hope the dinning plan will come back for our trip we arrive dec 5 2021 for my wedding anniversary 31 years
Michael says
Any info on an updated timeframe? I know it was delayed due to the delta variant, but florida is 3rd from the bottom in new infections now. Maybe it’s time Disney brought it back.
DFB Sarah says
Michael, still no update from Disney on a timeline for DDP.
Donna says

B.Peters says
I just got off the phone with someone from Guest Relations who stated that they don’t even have the majority or restaurants open yet (sounded specific to table service restaurants) and thus have not been given any update regarding the return of Dining Plans. They were clear that the hope was to have them back for the start of the 50th Celebration which was pushed back to Christmas which has been pushed back again, but this time they have not been given any indication of when they might bring back the Dining Plans. He doesn’t think they will be able to bring them back until they get all of the restaurants reopened with the main problem right now being staffing. He did say that things could change from one day to the next, but they have been given no information internally regarding a timeframe for the return of Dining Plans. He personally was unsure if they would ever return but did state he hopes they return as they are extremely popular.
