Guess what?? runDisney announced this morning that in-person runDisney events are back.
After a year+ of virtual races, runners can return to the parks for in-person races again, starting with the 2021 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend!
Here’s everything you need to know about the runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend in Disney World!
Theme
It’s themed “Wickedly Delicious” and will celebrate all of your favorite Disney Villains! The races during this weekend include the Disney Wine & Dine 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Disney Two Course Challenge. The Two Course Challenge includes the 10K and half marathon. There are both in-person and virtual options available for all four of the races this weekend!
Race Dates and Times
The races will begin November 4th, 2021 and last through the weekend till November 7th, 2021. The 5k race will be on November 5th, the 10k on November 6th, and the Half Marathon on November 7th. (So the Two Course Challenge takes place on November 6th and 7th.) Each race has a start time of 5AM EST at Disney World!
Registration
For all the races, general registration opens July 13, 2021 at 10AM EST. For Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members, registration begins July 6, 2021 at 10AM EST — that’s next Tuesday! So get your running shoes ready, because these dates are coming up fast!
Pricing
The price of the races depends on the race and the time of registration. For the 5k race, the cost is $95 if you register between July 13th and August 9th. It’s $105 if you register between August 10th and October 31st. For the 10k race, it’ll cost $135 if you register between July 13th and August 9th, and it’s $145 if you register between August 10th and October 31st.
For the half-marathon, if you register between July 13th and August 9th, the race will cost $215. Registration between August 10th and October 31st will cost $225! Finally, if you’re wicked enough to run the Two Course Challenge (which includes the 10k and the half-marathon races), it’ll cost $360 if you register between July 13th and August 9th and $370 if you register between August 10th and October 31st.
The After-Hours Party
There’s also an after-hours party for runners at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! Runners will be able to eat at Global Marketplaces, see live entertainment, and go on some EPCOT attractions!
If you registered for the half marathon or Two Race Challenge, your registration includes entry to the party! For the other races or for friends and family who want to celebrate with you, registration for this party costs $89.

Bib Pick-Up, Entertainment, and Spectators
Please note: there will NOT be kids’ races for the Wine & Dine Race Weekend this year.
If you’re running in the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, you’ll need to pick up your bib and participant shirt before the day of your race. Day-of-race pickup will not be available for these races!
Disney has implemented some new digital things you should know about if you plan to run the race. Weekend participants can complete their waiver form for their events digitally. There is also an expo check-in pass that you will need for each event you are participating in. And you can check out a digital event guide.
The runDisney expo will take place on 3 days:
- Thursday, November 4, 2021 | 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Friday, November 5, 2021 | 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday, November 6, 2021 | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
runDisney will continue to provide on-course entertainment during the races, but they said it “may look different than past races.” If you’re wondering about whether your friends and family can watch and cheer you on, all runDisney has said so far about spectators is: “The spectator experience continues to be evaluated. Please check back closer to the event for more details.” So we aren’t sure yet if spectators will be allowed or where they might be able to see you run!
Virtual Races
If you’d prefer to run any of the races for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend from home instead of in the parks, runDisney is still offering virtual races! General registration for these races opens July 16, 2021, at 10AM EST. The Virtual 5k will cost $79, the virtual 10K will cost $99, and the virtual half marathon will be $118.
The virtual Two-Course Challenge — including the 10k and a half marathon — will cost $252. Each virtual registration includes the medal, shirt, and bibs for the race, plus a virtual goody bag!

Jon says
Will annual passholders get early access to registration as in years past?
Tyler says
No more early registration for Passholders! They just keep taking stuff away. Insert das and mad face. Love y’all
DFB Sarah says
Jon, the only registration timeframe that Disney released is for “General” registration. It’s possible they could announce an AP or a DVC early registration, so we’ll be watching for that.
joyce02156 says
if you are a Florida local and driving in….where can you park for the 10K and Half?
DFB Sarah says
Joyce, races tend to end at EPCOT, so one of our team members who’s done multiple races has always been directed to park there. Once parked, if the race begins elsewhere, they’ll bus you from the parking lot. One of our team members notes that she’s had trouble with traffic when arriving to the parking lot by car, so she recommends parking at a Resort if you can, and taking a bus from there.
