Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Magic Kingdom!
This week we got to see more construction progress on a fan-favorite attraction and we found TONS of new merchandise that lets you sport your favorite rides, characters, and more! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s jump right on in!
Magic Kingdom Construction Update
Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise has been receiving some BIG updates since early this year with a brand new backstory that has brought more characters and scenes to the attraction. A little while ago we noticed that the head salesman, Trader Sam, had been removed from the ride to make way for his next big thing — a Gift Shop — and now, it’s open for business!
Trader Sam isn’t doing a great job at manning his business (he’s MIA right now), but you can check out all of his knick-knacks as you float by at the end of your journey (because every good Disney ride ends in a gift shop, right?). If you look close you can spot socks, instruments, and remnants of boats…
…and it looks like Trader Sam might be trying his hand at Disney’s PhotoPass system because there’s a sign for photos with an arrow!
This new scene joins many others that have already made their way to the attraction. And, we may be close to seeing the completion of the new story as Disney previously shared that the updates would be done by the end of summer.

Magic Kingdom Merchandise Update
The Emporium
It wouldn’t be a trip to Magic Kingdom without some shopping, and WOW did we find a lot of new items! We first stopped into the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A., and found a new brightly colored Tie Dye Headband for $13.99.
It’s got almost every color on the spectrum and you can even spot some hidden Mickey’s in the pattern!
And, if you claim Haunted Mansion as your favorite ride (or among your favorite rides) then we have a treat for you! We found TWO new Haunted Mansion Ears including the Madame Leota Minnie Ears that feature the purple wallpaper from the ride on the ears and the ghostly image of Madame Leota floating front and center on the bow. They cost $34.99.
Plus, we also found new Gargoyle Mickey Ears that have tons of characters and mementos from the attraction like the hitchhiking ghosts, Madame Leota, Constance Hatchaway, and more!
They’re a bit cheaper and cost $29.99.

If Mickey and Minnie Ears aren’t your style, you can still sport your favorite attraction with the new Haunted Mansion Hat! It has a plaid purple pattern and says “Restless Spirits, Departed Souls” on a patch. It’s can be yours for $27.99.
But that’s not the only new headware in the Emporium! Disney now has a new pair of Slinky Dog Ears that have even more character than the ones before! They now feature two Mickey Ears with Slinky Dog hopping through the clouds literally popping out of the headband!
They’re available for $29.99.

And, if you’ve hopped on the Disney nuiMOs trend, then you probably know that it’s time for a wardrobe change! Disney releases new outfits for the posable plushes every month and July is all about the Olympics and back to school! Your plushes can gear up to challenge Tiger Woods in TWO new golf outfits including one that has pants…
…and one with a skirt.
Or, your nuiMOs can hit the pool with a new Olympic swimmer outfit that comes with goggles and a swim cap.
And, it may be 90 degrees in Florida, but Disney is already thinking about what your nuiMOs might need for the fall with new University Trends outfits. So, now you can pick up stylish ensembles like this one with a corduroy jacket…
…or go all out with a fall-colored corduroy dress.
If there’s going to be a real chill in the air, your nuiMOs will be covered with a sherpa jacket and backpack…
…or they can cover up with a hooded jacket!
All of the new outfits are $12.99 each in Disney World and you can find even more Olympic and back to school gear for your Disney nuiMOs online too!

Frontierland Trading Post
Back at Frontierland Trading Post, we spotted another new item — a Jungle Cruise MagicBand! This limited edition accessory is themed after the fan-favorite attraction that is being turned into a live-action movie at the end of the month!
On one side you can spot the two main characters — Skipper Frank (played by Dwayne Johnson) and Dr. Lily Houghton (played by Emily Blunt).
And, on the other side, the design includes palm trees, snakes, and other critters that you’ll find on your adventure down the Nile River.
The new MagicBand costs 39.99 and is limited edition, so you’ll want to head to the parks to snag yours before they sell out!
And, that’s a wrap on everything new we spotted at Magic Kingdom this week! Of course, we’ll continue to bring you the latest updates from inside Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
