Since we’re in the parks every day, we like to let you know about all the newest things going on!
Here are a few updates of what’s happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including some changes at restaurants around the park and new merchandise in the shops!
We saw several changes to some of our favorite eating spots around the park. Here’s what we found!
Food Updates
At Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge (the Star Wars land), there was a new water station where guests can get their own water! This hasn’t been there since the parks closed last year! Now, guests can get their own cups and water inside the restaurant.
There’s usually a stand outside the entrance to Ronto Roasters where Cast Members would check your mobile order before admitting you to the restaurant. But when we stopped by recently it was gone!
Instead, there was a Cast Member waiting inside the entrance at the start of the line. This could mean a shift back to being able to order in person rather than on the app again is in the near future.
Ronto Roasters wasn’t the only spot with changes, though! Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction has been closed since the parks reopened last year…
…but we spotted a few Cast Members there! We’ll keep you updated as we learn more!
If you’re looking for ice cream in Hollywood Studios, you’ll have to check elsewhere for now! You might not have any more luck at Epic Eats at the moment, because when we were there they were out of ice cream temporarily!
Epic Eats is a dessert stand located near Echo Lake, and is usually has delicious funnel cakes topped with ice cream! You could still order the funnel cakes, but there was no ice cream to be found! Let’s head over to the shops to see if we have more luck there!
Merchandise Updates
Inside Legends of Hollywood, we found a new collection of Rose Gold Bags, including a backpack and tote bag! (And you could get a Rose Gold Mickey Hat to match!)
The backpack and tote bag both had Mickey head details and were made of a shiny, rose gold material.
The backpack cost $59.99. Here’s a look at the back, which has adjustable straps in the same fabric as the front!
The tote bag had plenty of room for your Disney park essentials…
…and more Mickey head details on the straps!
The tote bag cost $49.99.
If shiny bling isn’t really your style, though, we found some cute new Mickey sweaters inside Mickey’s of Hollywood! It’s a new line of sweatshirts that were all very lightweight. They fit loosely, with an open bottom.
The new sweatshirts came in yellow…
…teal…
…purple…
…and gray!
You can find these at Mickey’s of Hollywood now for $39.99 each! If you’re planning to go to Hollywood Studios, you might want a peek at what crowds have looked like recently!
Crowds and Wait Times
It’s been a pretty rainy week down in Disney World! That can actually help with crowd levels in the parks, though! If you bring a poncho and decide to brave the rain, you might be able to get on rides with a lower wait time as other guests wait out the weather somewhere else!
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is still a really popular ride, so make sure you keep an eye on wait times and try to go early or later in the day to get the lowest wait!
We stopped by Batuu Marketplace in Galaxy’s Edge and saw Cast Members playing the space game with guests again! You can find the game near the front entrance of the market!
Make sure you’re prepared for the rain and know where a good spot is if you need to run for cover! We took shelter near Echo Lake with a few guests!
A lot of people found shelter under the awnings of shops…
…but there were a few brave souls with ponchos who wouldn’t let a little rain ruin their day!
We peeked at a few ride wait times to let you know what they’re looking like this week.
Tower of Terror was busy as usual, with a wait time of 100 minutes when we stopped by.
Rockin’ Rollercoaster is another busy ride, and it was at 80 minutes when we saw it! Both of these rides get really crowded during the day, so you’ll want to rush over or stay late for the lowest times! And make sure you keep an eye on the times on the My Disney Experience app, just in case there’s a lull during the day sometime!
Other News
In other Hollywood Studios news, you might have already heard that Hollywood Studios came out with a new map!
The big change here is that the guest in the picture isn’t wearing a mask anymore. It’s one more step that Disney is taking to a return to “normal.”
We also stopped to chat with a sweet Cast Member named Dana, who was hanging out by Muppet Vision 3D!
If you’re in the area, go say hello to her from us! That’s all for now with the Hollywood Studios news! Keep following Disney Food Blog for more park updates!
