One of Disney’s Animal Kingdom seasonal snack Kiosks, The Smiling Crocodile, is back! This spot is known for wacky treats like the delicious Pulled Pork Jelly Doughnuts and the surface-of-the-sun hot Pulled Pork Tamales, and serves up Mexican-inspired cuisine!
For the past year, this snack spot has been closed, but on July 11th it reopened with an updated menu! So, we stopped by to check it out!
Located in the Discovery Island section of Animal Kingdom, this is a great spot to take a break from a day at the park and enjoy some nice food! The outside of this kiosk is full of cute carvings and fun little details!
The first thing we noticed was the menu! The Pulled Pork Jelly Doughnuts have moved over to the nearby Eight Spoon Cafe, making room for three different street tacos!
We walked up to the kiosk and ended up ordering almost everything on the menu!

First, we got the Island Sunrise featuring Jose Cuervo Tequila with Pineapple-Orange-Guava Juice and a hint of Watermelon for $12! This is the same drink that you can find at Tusker House and it’s pretty good. Tusker House is a table-service, so this is a good way to grab this drink quickly! It’s also topped with gummy worms, and as you can tell, one of them was not having it today!
When the worm hears that Flight of Passage is only a 15 minute wait… 😂

The first dish we got was the Street Corn Tacos featuring Two Tacos with Black Beans, Roasted Corn, Poblano Peppers, and Red Onion topped with Pico de Gallo, Chili-Lime Mayonnaise, and Cotija Cheese served with a side of Chips and Salsa for $9.99.
The corn, beans, and cheese went together so well! The corn was a little bit spicy, but it wasn’t too intense. It also had a nice smokey, roasted flavor that went well with the fresh herbs and the peppers. We ended up adding a little extra salsa just to give this taco an extra kick!
Now, it’s time to bring the heat! The second dish we got was the Chicken Street Tacos featuring Two Roasted Chicken Tacos tossed in a House-made Sauce with Lime Crema, Cotija Cheese, Cabbage, and Pickled Onion served with a side of Chips and Salsa for $9.99.
The chicken in these tacos was SPICY! We were okay with the spice, but if you don’t like spicy food, maybe steer clear! The chicken was moist, the herbs added a nice freshness, the onions had plenty of great crunch — this was a great street taco!
Both of the taco dishes have Chips and Salsa on the side and they were GREAT! The chips were warm and crunchy, we could tell they were fresh! The salsa was like a salsa verde and a pico de gallo put together, it was really refreshing and had just the right amount of spice! This was an excellent chip and dip.
If you’re looking for some good street tacos and great chips and salsa, the Smiling Crocodile is the place for you! The Island Sunrise was a refreshing drink, but needed a good stir! The Street Corn Tacos had a great balance of flavor and just the right amount of spice and freshness. The Chicken Street Tacos were spicy but really delicious! The chips and salsa were fresh and really well done. Overall, this was a good place to grab some tacos and a drink! However, if you’re looking for the Pulled Pork Jelly Doughnut that used to be here, head over to Eight Spoon Cafe nearby. If you still want a quick bite but aren’t feeling tacos, check out Trilo-Bites and Dino Diner in Dinoland, U.S.A. Most guests would pass by this location, but if you’re a taco fan, we recommend giving it a shot!
