The Haunted Mansion Holiday is returning to Disneyland this year for Halloween!
In preparation for the frighteningly festive event, Disney released a sneak peek at the Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread House that will be featured inside the Grand Hall of the mansion!
Each year at Halloween time, the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland is redecorated by Jack Skellington in a spooky Christmas theme! The decorations are inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” and capture the collision of Christmas and Halloween!
As part of this celebration, the Haunted Mansion displays a gingerbread house, which is given a different theme every year. In the past, we’ve seen themes like the “Stitched-Up-Patchwork House,” the “Oogie Boogie Bug-infested House,” and the “Giant Gingerbread Spider House.”
For 2021, the Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread House will be a Frankenstein-style mash-up of all the other gingerbread house themes! It celebrates the Haunted Mansion Holiday’s twentieth anniversary by combining elements from all the previous gingerbread houses. According to the designer of this year’s gingerbread house, “We went back to the graveyard to dig up all of our ideas from the past 19 years. This year’s Franken-house stitches together favorite elements from the previous 19 houses!”
The concept art that Disney released shows that this gingerbread homage to years past will be no small feat! You’ll be able to see the new Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread House during the Halloween season in Disneyland, which is September 3rd, 2021 to October 31st, 2021. Disneyland also will have commemorative water bottles, pins, and t-shirts to celebrate the Haunted Mansion Holiday’s twentieth anniversary!
