Are you ready for the 2021 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival? Because we are!
We are SO ready to make our way around EPCOT and eat everything we can, visiting each and every food booth (minus the few that are opening on October 1st), including the eight new ones that are making their debut this year! How exciting!
One of those new booths is The Noodle Exchange, which has promised us flavors from the Far East.
Menu
The menu features some unique takes on Asian food, including Pho and Curry. And as a booth that’s brand new to the festival, we haven’t tried any of these options yet!
We are all about some Asian flavors, so we ordered EVERYTHING.

Food
We started with the Traditional Spicy Vietnamese Beef Pho with Shaved Beef, Enoki Mushrooms, and Thai Basil. We noticed right off the bat that this broth was very salty, but we didn’t dislike it! The beef was really tasty and the peppers were a good touch — changing up the flavor and texture perfectly.
Even though “spicy” is in the name, we found that this one wasn’t very spicy compared to the others that we tried. It’s a very good option for those who want something basic, though. You can order it for $5.50.
Then it was time to nom on the Char Siu Pork Udon with Enoki Mushrooms, Bok Choy, and Soy Pickled Egg. Seriously, you had us at Pickled Egg! Out of the bunch, we thought that these were probably the best noodles. Those thick udon noodles were packed with flavor!
Once again, the broth was good but very salty, so keep that in mind. And if you’re an egg lover, you’ll really appreciate that pickled egg right there in the bowl — it was a nice addition. You can have all of this for $5.50!
We celebrated our curry love with the Shrimp and Coconut Curry Rice Noodles with Shiitake Mushrooms and Thai Basil. Those shrimp pieces were BIG and well worth our money, and this was the most flavorful broth by FAR! Way to go shrimp curry!
It was creamy, delicious, and more filling than the others because it had more substance. So many different flavors in one bowl that blended together well — this wins the honor of our favorite from this booth! Try it for yourself for $6.25.
The last item on the list is the Tofu Pho with Enoki Mushrooms and Thai Basil. You can order this one for $5.50! When we first arrived at the booth, they were out of tofu, but by the time we got our food, it was back, and we hoped it was worth the wait. We really enjoyed the fresh basil — it was one of the highlights as far as flavors go.
This one definitely had the spiciest broth of them all, so make sure you want that “kick” if you’re going to order it. If you love tofu, this is just right for you! And it’s only $5.50.
All in all, we really loved these noodles. This may be a booth that we come back and visit again and again!

Beverages
But we were JUST getting started because this booth also features some drinks, too, including the Playalinda Brewing Company Yaupon Brothers Green Tea Pale Ale. This was incredibly refreshing, and just perfect if you love green tea as much as we do.
This is just the beer you need when you’re walking around EPCOT on a hot day and it’s packed with people. Get yourself a cup for $5 (6oz) or $9 (12oz).
Overall
Would we come back to this booth again? FOR SURE! We loved that Shrimp Curry noodle bowl and this global marketplace is so different than what we’re used to seeing at the festival. What a great choice!

The name though….it’s like it’s trying to make a pun on “needle exchange”, which is, well, an unexpected heroin reference coming from Disney. (Sidebar: needle exchanges save lives! But maybe don’t name your noodle stand after them?)

Lauren, you know, I never made the Noodle/needle Exchange connection. The exchange part references a food exchange, I think, though I doubt these dishes are exact swaps for one another in terms of calories/protein/etc. as a proper exchange dictates. Interesting observation, though. Thanks for sharing.

The shrimp and coconut curry rice noodles are my absolute favorite! Anyone know where I can get the recipe?
