Cinderella Castle’s 50th anniversary makeover
We’ve taken a look at a TON of fun celebrations coming for this massive anniversary like the refurbishment of park icons, NEW fireworks, and a LOT more. Now, Disney has announced that the celebrations will even extend OUTSIDE of Disney World… .
Disney World Cast Members have teamed up with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) to transform the arrival experience at Orlando International Airport (MCO) as a part of the 50th Anniversary!

Those flying into Orlando will notice a TON of exciting new touches like a wide-spanning art installation in the terminal train stations featuring Disney characters, projected EARidescent light patterns, and an immersive photo opportunity with a re-creation of a Disney ride vehicle.

GOAA and Disney World are also bringing the airport a new Magic of Disney store to be completed in the South Terminal Complex in 2022.

CEO of GOAA Phil Brown says of the transformation, “Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World share a commitment to the Central Florida community. We proudly recognize the outstanding accomplishment of our longtime partner as they celebrate this impressive 50th Anniversary milestone. Collaborating on a commemorative presence at Florida’s busiest airport means we get to be the first moment of celebration for guests flying into Orlando to be part of the spectacular fanfare.”
