There are some things in Disney World you just can’t avoid, like waiting in lines.
It’s very rare that you don’t have to wait in line for rides unless it’s a show at EPCOT or the Enchanted Tiki Room in Magic Kingdom (which deserves more appreciation, people!). Lines are just something you have to accept as part of your Disney trip, especially now that FastPasses are no longer available. BUT there are some long lines that you don’t have to waste your time standing in if you plan correctly! And we bet the people at Magic Kingdom this morning wish they would’ve known that beforehand.
THIS was the line for Guest Relations outside Magic Kingdom this morning…
…yeah, BIG yikes! It stretched preeetty far. No thank you!
Many people in line were trying to activate their Florida Resident tickets that they had bought online.
But this whole mess CAN be avoided if your issue deals with ticket activation! (We know often times people wait in Guest Relations lines for many other issues that happen unexpectedly) Our pro tip is to activate your tickets the day before you want to go into the parks.
If you’re already in town, we suggest going to Guest Relations at the front of ANY of the 4 parks or even in Disney Springs in the afternoon or evening the day before you plan on going to the parks. You can also activate these at the Ticket and Transportation Center.
There’s usually little to NO line during this time, and your tickets will be activated quickly so you don’t have to spend a big chunk of your park day waiting just to get into the parks!
There’s usually a spike in the number of guests in the Guest Relations line in the morning. So, if you have a Guest Relations issue that doesn’t need to be dealt with immediately, we suggest waiting until later in the day and visiting one of the locations inside the parks.

The only problem with this is you lose a day on the back side. 🙁

I was at Disney World this past week the crowds was unbelievable 70 ,80 minutes kidy rides 10 to 30 min. still great rides . You had to go on the ride because the wait time was low .I have been going for 25 years never seen crowd like this year . The ride that was high times was always runaway rail rode and 7 draugh mine train . It felt like it was 90 % people every where going crazy for a ride .

I have found the line for Guest Relations at the International Gateway entrance of Epcot and the one in Disney Springs to be shortest most times.
I’d probably never go to the one at MK.
But I do have a question – was this only in my dreams or didn’t at some point the front desk of the Resort hotels, were able to activate tickets, if so can they still? And in the Concierge levels, are they not able to activate any more? I swear both those places you could get tickets activated, but again it could be in my dreams. And even then it would explain the Florida AP’s standing in line at a park, they more then likely wouldn’t have a hotel option if that is available.

Are you able to activate your ticket at the Ticket Store at Disney Springs?
DFB Sarah says
Ann, you can activate an Annual Pass at Guest Relations in Disney Springs.
