Would you take a train from Orlando International Airport to Disney World?
Well, you should have the chance to do so in the future thanks to the new connection in the works from Brightline. We’ve shared an update on when the service from the airport to Disney may begin, a decision regarding its route that has been delayed indefinitely, and more news. But, you might be wondering, just what is the status of the construction of this train right now? We’re sharing an update here!
Brightline currently has a train line that runs between Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. The company is scheduled to complete construction of their train line connecting West Palm Beach to Orlando International Airport by the end of 2022. But, the Orlando Sentinel previously reported that service from the airport to Disney Springs is not slated to begin until about 2026.
So, what does construction of this line near the Orlando International Airport look like now? On Twitter, bioreconstruct has shared a number of images from the sky that give us a peek at what’s going on. Below you can see an aerial photo of one of the terminals at Orlando International Airport with the Brightline tracks at the left-hand side.

Brightline has recently released a press release regarding their upcoming “Phase 2” of construction and their work in connecting West Palm Beach to Orlando International Airport. It notes what lanes will be closed during their construction work for Orange County and Brevard County.
Again, keep in mind that service connecting South Florida to Orlando International Airport is expected to open in 2022. Service from the airport to Disney Springs, however, is not slated to begin until about 2026.
