Hey DFB fam!
Today’s been a bit wild with all the new details about the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser coming out! While we’re thinking about Star Wars in Disney World, we thought we’d stop by Disney’s Hollywood Studios to visit Galaxy’s Edge and see what’s new there and in the rest of the park!
Food is, of course, our first priority, so we’re gonna start with an important update about the eats in Hollywood Studios!
Hollywood Studios Food Update
If you’re walking down Sunset Boulevard, you’ll notice that one counter-service restaurant is finally open again: Catalina Eddie’s!
This spot has pizza, salads, and breadsticks, along with a couple of kids’ menu items and dessert options!

To be totally real with you guys — this is not our most favorite spot. It’s fine for a snack or if you’re hungry and just want some food, but it’s probably not the best food you can find in the parks!
For that, you might want to try the Cobb Salad at Hollywood Brown Derby or maybe a Ronto Wrap at Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge!

Now let’s check out what new merchandise we can find around the Studios!
Hollywood Studios Merchandise Update
There was a lot going on with new merchandise in Hollywood Studios! To start out, we found these new pins in the Dark Room gift shop!
There’s a limited-edition “Artfully Evil” pin with a Jafar theme, including his Golden Scarab Beetle, cobras, and lamp patterns. We also found a new Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings pin for the new Marvel movie that’s coming out soon! The Shang-Chi pin was $15.99.
And if you’re a big fan of Experiment 626, you’ll love the new limited-edition Stitch pin we found for $19.99!
While we were in the Dark Room, we also noticed that they’ve restocked the new MagicBands, which sold out fast when they came out recently!
Now you can get the Indiana Jones MagicBands and Liberty Square MagicBands again!
Finally, we stopped by Keystone Clothiers and saw that they restocked a lot of previously sold-out Marvel merchandise, including this super cute Marvel Loungefly Mini-Backpack!
It’s got cute Marvel characters on it, like Captain America, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and more! Speaking of Marvel hero merchandise, we saw some more items for the new Shang-Chi movie in this store as well!
Disney’s all geared up and ready for its release this September!
After our shopping spree, we walked around to take a look at some ride times and crowds in the parks!
Ride Times and Crowds
Starting near the entrance, we stopped at Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, located in the Chinese Theatre!
The wait time for this ride was 55 minutes! The line for this one can get really hot later in the day because most of it is outside. So if it’s on your must-ride list, you may want to hit it earlier in the morning or in the evening! We turned and went down Sunset Boulevard next, where we saw the Tower of Terror!
The Tower of Terror line was 50 minutes! Also, the sign for the ride’s wait time was back to normal (it went a little bit crazy last week!)! Finally, we stopped by one of the most popular roller coasters in this park: Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land!
The wait time for this ride was a whopping 100 minutes! This is one to fast-walk to right when the park opens, because it usually has a pretty long line!

On our way back to the exit, we stopped in Galaxy’s Edge to say hello to Rey and Chewie, who were out chatting with guests!
That’s about it for our trip to Hollywood Studios! Keep following DFB and we’ll let you know about all the new things we find!

Margi Underwood says
Question: Are MagicBands necessary at Disney World? Are there advantages to having one?
DFB Sarah says
Margi, MagicBands are convenient, but they aren’t necessary. The convenience is having it linked to your account and your credit/debit card so that you can simply tap it on touchpoints to pay for things, enter your Resort room, and enter the Parks. But these things can be handled now by MagicMobile (on your personal device) or by an Admission Card and the use of cash or credit/debit cards.
