The holiday season is almost upon us at Disney World and that means that the holiday crowds are incoming!
Not only is it almost the end of summer break, but the Disney After Hours BOO Bash is just around the corner. With the 50th anniversary celebrations beginning on October 1st and the premiere of new fireworks shows and rides, we can expect the crowds to stay in Disney World for a while. So let’s take a look at what the weekend crowds looked like in Disney World today!
Getting onto the ferry for Magic Kingdom today, we noticed a LOT of people waiting to hop on one! As crowds and capacity continue to increase, we expect large lines like this to become more and more commonplace.
It was certainly a snug fit on the ferry (that’s going to be a general theme for this weekend’s crowds).
Heading into Magic Kingdom, rope drop was pretty busy, but not nearly as busy as last week’s Magic Kingdom rope drop!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the other hand was…a lot. The crowds were PACKED at rope drop — it was reminding us of the “before times” with how many people were there. Lately, we’ve been seeing HUGE Hollywood Studios crowds, so this is no surprise.
Area’s like Toy Story Land had tons of people this weekend, with a lot of people trying to get on big blockbuster rides like Slinky Dog Dash.
It was the same way in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, too. We were nice and snug in the sometimes shoulder-to-shoulder foot traffic.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom also had a temporary pile-up after Kilimanjaro Safaris had an unexpected closure on Saturday morning. Certain areas of the park were pretty slow, but others looked more like this.
That’s all the crowd updates we have for you this weekend! Stay tuned for more info, we’re always keeping up with the latest Disney news!

DJ Moves says
That’s a lot of ferry people not wearing masks standing WAY too close to others. *cringe*
Darlene says
“DJ”. Then don’t go! Those people in line are very comfortable and that is why they are there.
DJ Moves says
“Darlene” or maybe everyone should follow the rules of the place they’re planning on going. But if you’re comfortable deciding your comfort is worth more than another’s safety, health, and comfort, sounds pretty privileged. Make sure you wield that privilege responsibly. Even when the mask mandates were “lifted”, transportation, as in the ferry I’m commenting on, was required. You pay to go somewhere with rules and you need to follow the rules. I’d hate to think everyone just smoking cigarettes because the nicotine addiction was making them uncomfortable.
SAKAFA says
no people aren’t comfortable. was just there – avoided the boat because of no masking requirement. disney is going to end up shutting down because of delta and people not masking when they are supposed to.
Darlene says
“DJ” I’m not looking for any argument from you. I was there for mask mandate and I wore my mask. When we where there in a que they told us to wear the mask. Disney is very on top of this and if this was an area to wear the mask, those people would have it on. “SAKAFA” Please don’t speak for everyone that they are uncomfortable. I know many people who are comfortable. Again People this is your CHOICE to GO to Disney or stay HOME! Disney is doing a very GREAT JOB handling this COVID situation!
