There’s so much going on in Disney World right now that it’s almost impossible NOT to have any questions! Between the new mask policy and the start of BOO Bash, there are a lot of changes happening.
To help answer some questions, one might turn to My Disney Experience!
The My Disney Experience app and website both offer a live chat feature where guests can type their questions and wait for a Cast Member to reply. (It’s the tile called “Chat With Us” in the bottom right corner of the app!)
Recently, while trying to use the chat feature, we got an interesting message! An automatic response came up that reads, “…we may not be able to assist you until tomorrow.”
Tomorrow?! It seems like that live chat isn’t so live at the moment.
One thing to keep in mind is that the actual wait time for a reply may vary. A DFB reporter reached out to Disney through the My Disney Experience chat just yesterday and received this same message. But they had a response from Disney within 10 minutes!
Today, our reporter waited for a little over 40 minutes to receive a reply. So, the times really can vary. But that tomorrow message sure does give an initial shock. If you’re looking for a faster reply you might want to call Disney World through the Help Center page on My Disney Experience! Or if you’re at the parks, it may be faster to go to the Front Desk at your hotel or Guest Relations.

We have been going to Disney dinning experiences approximately 12 times a year outside going to Disney several times a year. We save these for special occasion dinners for Disney hotel restaurant dinners known for great food. . A month ago we went to Cape May at the beach. There were no crab legs as in the past not even to buy. The food was not so great and with my husband who had a li er transplant we tried to get food from the back like we had in the past even after speaking to the chef who advised that the food was safe. He missed the whole point of buffet food and temperatures and the fact strangers were breathing on the food touching and cross contamination. To avoid an u comfortable situation with our other guests we went with it. Continued with enjoying our friends even though dispute his seafood allergy he ate very little of fear of cross contamination, the chef was confident he could trust other people eating there. Yes I know you will say why even go there. Because Disney always was able to provide my husband with un-cross contaminated food and he went there knowing he would be safe and not interrupt our friends birthday celebration. So we will not be going back there for their lack of caring which they so graciously did in the past.
So we forgo the Buffett dinner. Now it’s his birthday so we go to Trattoria al Forno at the boardwalk a sit down dinner. He orders the NY strip steak as always. We have been there many times. I get covid and serving sizes but we have to say where’s the beef? Last fall we went there and had a great dinner. You don’t mind pay 40 for a dinner that is usually over the top. Last fall 6 months later the size of the steak reduced in size by 2/3. We received a very thin NY strip steak about 1 cm in thickness compared to the 3/4 to inch thickness last year. In addition it was thrown on the plate on top of the few veggies and three potato wedges lumped the right side of the plate with nothing on the left side. Awkward and no presentation skills on plating. We get reducing portions but come on. Try to order a thin steak $40 and have it cooked to perfection. Our Disney group of friends were also amazed at the size of the steak and it became the old joke of where’s the beef. How embarrassing when one says Golden Corral had thicker steaks or Long Horn and for less money. Disney has certainly reduced the portions and lack of attention and going with a simplistic version was a flop when compared to a previously platted: Pea purée under the plated Tuscan veggies (which was to die for) and a scoop of Cannellini beans topped with a perfectly seared 3/4 to 1” NY Strip Steak. And they get rid of the chopped olive topping for the rolls and replaces with the puréed garlic not so appetizing to look at plopped into a sea of olive oil. Again poor way of presenting. Again we go to enjoy good food and great friendships for over 50 years. The only let down was the food. Disappointing and while we are one very small group of people who made Disney a tradition for celebrations, we really have to think we’re we go. I didn’t even give a review of the multiple restaurants we have visited and I don’t mind spending the extra money for the “experiences” but the experiences are getting less and less and when we decide to move our celebrations away our decision will not impact Disney in the slightest financially, but for those going the first time it will leave them wondering if they should return. We all agrees it’s all about the magical moments for the kids but Disney has to remember it’s the parents paying for this and they need to create those memories for future generations or there will be less generations returning. Again we are a small group who enjoy great friends and enjoy celebrating life’s moments and it would be great if we can continue but when you are with such great friends you can create those memories anywhere. We won’t make or break then and the point to walk away with is Disney is making the wrong choices and need to wake up and make those magical moments magical again and spend less energy in areas that don’t matter. Disappointed in the mouse.
