Disney Cruise Line has officially set sail from the United States with its first “traditional” sailing (a.k.a. not a simulated/test sailing).
While many of the things you know and love about Disney Cruise Line are still available, there are a number of things that are different on the sailings now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There are certain rules and requirements regarding COVID-19 test results, mask rules, and more. We’ve already shared a look at some of those, but now Disney has released something to help future cruisers make sure they’ve taken care of everything they need to do before they board!
Disney Cruise Line currently has a section of its website informing guests of what they need to know before they board an upcoming ship. The website goes through things you need to do/know before you leave home, on embarkation day, on the ship, and more.
Recently, Disney also added a pre-cruise checklist section to the site to help you make sure you’ve meet all of the rules/requirements. This can be an extremely helpful way to make sure you’ve done everything you need to do when you need to do it.
First, the checklist goes through some things you should do once you’ve booked your cruise, like download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and purchase travel insurance (note that travel insurance is required except in certain cases, such as when a guest provides proof of vaccination).
It then outlines what you should do one month before you set sail. Specifically, every adult guest needs to create an account on the Safe Passage website from Inspire Diagnostics in order to later upload the required COVID-19 test documentation. There are also other things listed like Online Check-In and more that should be done at this time.
Between 5 days and 24 hours setting sail, cruisers must meet other requirements, like taking a pre-trip COVID-19 PCR test and more.
Finally, the website lists reminders for Embarkation Day. On Embarkation Day, guests must fill out a pre-trip Health Questionnaire, bring proof of travel insurance and COVID-19 test results (or proof of vaccination), and take a COVID-19 PCR test before setting sail.
This checklist is just an overview regarding the requirements for sailing, but it can be a helpful way for you to keep track of what you need to do. To see more details, you can review our post about the changes coming to Disney Cruise Line and visit the Disney Cruise Line website.
Keep in mind that these rules are all subject to change. If you’ll be cruising with Disney soon, be sure to check back on their website as your sail date gets closer to see if any changes have been made.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more updates from Disney Cruise Line and let you know what we find. Stay tuned for the latest Disney news!

Hi as an international visitor whose hoping to take a Disney cruise… Is there any guidance on what (if any) Covid vaccines they will or more importantly will not accept?
Ken says
We are booked in October and looking forward to it but are very concerned that the Fed. will cancel all cruising due to the new covid Delta strain increase.

Karen, I’m not sure that they’ve specified. You may want to reach out to DCL about this.
