Disney’s Very Merriest After Hours is a new way to ring in the holiday season in Disney World. Running from November 8th to December 21st, the 4-hour long event will feature delicious holiday treats, character encounters, a jolly atmosphere, and all sorts of festivities like fireworks and parades.
Today, we have some BIG news to share about the upcoming Christmas event!
Tickets for Disney’s Very Merriest After Hours are on sale for select Disney World resort guests today! The tickets are currently available to guests at select Disney resorts, including Swan and Dolphin and Shades of Green. This is a pricy event, costing between $169 and $249, depending on the date.
When we first wrote this post, tickets for Disney’s Very Merriest After Hours event could ONLY be purchased over the phone.
We called first thing in the morning to try and secure some tickets but had to hold for a LONG time. If you’ll be purchasing your tickets on the phone, be prepared to wait.
UPDATE: Tickets for Very Merriest After Hours can also now be purchased online by guests of Disney Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, and Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort with a hotel stay that overlaps with one of the Very Merriest After Hours dates.
When logged into their Disney account (with their hotel reservation properly linked to that account) guests will be able to see and purchase Very Merriest After Hours tickets online.
If you’re interested in experiencing a little holiday magic at Walt Disney World, you’ll want to look into purchasing these tickets now as they might sell out!

They can be purchased online! Just be logged in so the system can see you have a reservation for the proper timeframe and go to the Disney’s Very Merriest After Hours page. There’s a link there saying tickets can be purchased now for resort guests and (if you’re logged in) clicking on it shows you the dates available for you to purchase during your stay.

I got online at 7am and was able to purchase online. There was a small, almost unnoticeable link on the word “purchase” on the event webpage once I had signed in.
Tink224 says
When I log in to purchase there is no offer for the $10 DVC member discount. Do you have to call for the discount?
Suzie says
We just purchased our tickets but we are not staying in a deluxe hotel. We are in a moderate.
Tony says
This article says there will be character meet and greets. Does that mean you can actually take photos close to them? :’) Are those back?
DFB Sarah says
Tony, Disney has not said “meet and greets” specifically. I’ve asked an editor to revisit this detail.
DFB Sarah says
Tink224, I’d suggest reaching out to DVC member services to see what they recommend.
