Even if you plan out every detail of your Disney World trip, things can still be unpredictable.
Rides can shut down, the weather can be bad, or transportation can be late. Sometimes you can even have issues with where you’re staying on property, which is exactly what happened today at a popular Disney hotel.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort was evacuated this morning at Disney World.
Our reader, Alexis Miller, told us that the fire alarm was going off at the hotel, causing everyone to evacuate.
According to Guest Services Cast Members, the alarm started going off at 10:50AM and everyone was back inside by 11:17AM. We were told that the alarm was not a scheduled drill —Â rather that something happened, such as smoke from a restaurant or a pulled alarm, but we were not given the exact reason.
And then, this afternoon, the alarm went off again. A Cast Member told us that they are having issues with their alarm systems and this particular alarm was not related to the issue earlier that caused the evacuation. The most recent alarm has now stopped and did not cause an evacuation.

We have seen issues like this at Disney hotels in the past, like when the fire alarm kept going off at Wilderness Lodge, causing people to evacuate…
…or when the fire alarm also caused an evacuation at Disney’s Riviera Resort last year.
We will keep you updated if more information is released.
