UPDATE: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is back up and running again as of 4 PM EST 8/25/21.
Sometimes things don’t go according to plan in Disney World.
Rides can shut down, bad weather can impact your day, or you could be stuck on a ride or transportation. Today, a popular ride was evacuated in Disney World.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run has been evacuated in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run building is currently being evacuated after an alarm went off. Anyone standing near the building is being asked to move away as well. (📸: @ banana8050 on IG) pic.twitter.com/C5WrGXOkmh

We are not sure at this time what caused the evacuation, but a reader (@banana8050 on Instagram) told us that the fire alarm went off when she was in line. She also said everyone near the outside was being asked to step away.
Evacuations on rides are pretty normal to see in Disney World. For example, we recently saw the PeopleMover evacuated in Magic Kingdom, Rise of the Resistance has been evacuated in the past, and we even saw Kali River Rapids evacuated by the Disney World fire department.
Smugglers Run is now open again in Hollywood Studios, but we’ll keep you updated if we find out more information about why it was evacuated, so stay tuned to DFB.

Well if you just had a bad run for the coaxium and were leaving, then the alarms and evacuation would really sell the immersive experience for you.

This is the second problem 1 st it was the alarm on the resort and now 2 nd a ride . Disney needs to have better systems to detect what is going on there property’s . Is it going to be a day today problem . People are not going to be to happy .

Nov. 5, 2019 we had been in the single rider line and just gotten belted into our seat and then was told we needed to follow the cast member. We were directed with another group to a doorway and stairs that fed us in with even more people till we all were eventually outside with blue vested cast members saying the ride was closed till further notice. Someone evidently had activated the fire alarm. We hung around the area and made our way back into the stand-by lane as one of the first to get back in. This was our very first time ever doing this attraction. °o°
