Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary is less than a month away!!
The celebrations kick off on October 1st, when we’ll see things like a new fireworks show, the opening of a much anticipated new ride, and new golden character statues around the parks! Disney has been getting ready for the celebration for a while now, gradually adding decorations like new 50th anniversary banners and a stage in front of the recently made-over Cinderella Castle. And today, we noticed another new addition for the celebration!
There is a NEW sign in front of the Train Station at Magic Kingdom!
The sign has the number 50 and reads “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” which is the slogan for the anniversary festivities!
It’s in the same EARidescent design as we’ve seen on other decorations around the parks lately, like the new sign on Cinderella Castle!
Here’s another look at the sign.

This new decoration has us even MORE excited for the anniversary celebrations!
UPDATE: Even more 50th Anniversary decor has been added to this area in the front of Magic Kingdom. Look closely at the flower beds and you’ll find a large “50” sign laying on top of some of the plants.
We’ll keep an eye out for any other new decorations we see around the parks, so stay tuned to DFB for updates on what we find!

I love seeing the new signs, as hand painted lettering was my career. My mentor stepped away from the hassles of owning his own business about 20 years ago, to spend a few working at WDW. Energized with ideas once again, he restarted his business back here in Mich. Although I’m retired now myself, it was great to feed off his new found enthusiasm.
