Crowds at Disney World have been surprisingly low for this time of year, and there are many things we could attribute to that.
Between kids going back to school, the Delta variant, and the upcoming 50th anniversary we can see why the parks have been less busy as of late. However, that may not last much longer.
According to Click Orlando News, the officials at Orlando International Airport stated they expect crowds to exceed what they were pre-pandemic. They expect more than 303,000 departures, a 7% increase over Labor Day weekend in 2019, and more than double the number of departures from 2020.
The CDC has advised people to avoid travel during this Labor Day holiday. As of now, the airport is expecting the busiest travel day over Labor Day weekend to be Saturday, where they will be expecting more than 53,000 departures.Â
With Labor Day, the 50th Anniversary, and the Holidays all around the corner, this may be the beginning of a very busy time in Disney World. We will keep you posted on any travel updates here at DFB!
