The Pandora: World of Avatar land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to some awesome rides, like Flight of Passage, and some delicious food, such as the cheeseburger pods at Satu’li Canteen!

Today, we stopped by the Na’vi River Journey ride and sailed through the gorgeous land of Pandora — but one BIG part of the ride was missing.
One of the things the Na’vi River Journey is known for is the amazing animatronics inside the ride. The animatronics portray the Na’vi people from the movie Avatar. Today, while we were on this ride, we noticed that one was missing.

The Shaman of Songs animatronic was not in its usual spot. Instead, there was a screen with a video of the Shaman playing.

This happens fairly regularly in Disney World, as Imagineers take the machines to be serviced or fixed.
Missing Shaman’s screen replacement
We’ve seen it happen before over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride and Rise of the Resistance, as well as on other rides throughout the Disney parks. Does anyone else still crack up when they remember the plant replacement for Donald Duck’s animatronic in the Gran Fiesta Tour ride in EPCOT?
May we just say…WHAT?!
So we’re expecting the Na’vi Shaman to return to the Pandora attraction soon! But for now, you will just see the Shaman of Songs on a screen. Keep following DFB for more news about what’s going on in Disney World.

What is happening over there?! It seems like they’re having a lot of breakdowns.
What??? You want rides that work after you pay twice to get on? “It’ll cost a little more”. for that to happen. Doesn’t seem odd that all of these closings, evacuations, break downs, and hundreds of changes that were once free and fun, are happening after the Covid crap. I understand Disney lost a lot of profit, but to try and make up for it in one year is putting everyone’s safety at risk. Things are happening to fast without thorough thought or testing.
I hope that is disclosed online with other refurbs even though it’s still running. I would be very disappointed! She literally IS the ride.
I was just on this ride today, Nov 14, 2021 and the Shaman animatronic was still missing. It really ruins the ride when she’s missing.
