Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to some amazing rides, like Avatar Flight of Passage in Pandora — The World of Avatar, and unique food, like the Ahi Tuna Nachos at Yak and Yeti Restaurant.
Recently, we rode Na’vi River Journey and found that the Shaman of Songs animatronic was missing. Now, we’re heading around Animal Kingdom to check out what else is new around the park.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Food Updates
One of the biggest pieces of news from Animal Kingdom is that POG juice is BACK!
A little while ago, this delicious juice disappeared from most of the locations in the parks and resorts where we used to be able to find it. We were informed that there was a shortage of POG juice from the supplier, causing the disappearance of the this fan-favorite drink in Disney World. Note that POG Juice was previously supplied by Minute Maid/Coca-Cola.
But, now, Disney is using a NEW provider for POG juice — Nestle. What does this mean? From what we understand, POG juice is on its way back to Disney World and is set to once again be available on its own or as part of various cocktails.
We were actually able to get POG juice (also known as Jungle Juice) in the form of a cocktail — the Ngumu Jungle Juice with Snow Leopard Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, and Tusker’s famous Jungle Juice — over at Dawa Bar in Animal Kingdom for $13.
Even though the supplier has changed, it tasted very similar to the other POG juice. We’re so happy to see POG juice back in action in Disney World.

Animal Kingdom Crowd Updates
Recently, the crowd levels at the Disney parks had been LOW — like, walk-on-to-Flight-of-Passage-low. Although we’re still seeing fewer people than “normal” in Animal Kingdom, the holiday weekend has crowd levels higher than they’ve been recently.
When we visited the park on Saturday, Flight of Passage had a relatively short line, with a 15-minute wait time early in the morning.
The wait for Expedition Everest was also very low during one of our visits this past weekend, with a 5-minute wait time early in the day.
Upon opening, the wait times weren’t too bad when we visited on the weekend. But, by noon, lines were starting to pick up.
We’re keeping an eye on the crowds in Disney World, especially as the 50th Anniversary, Halloween, and the holidays approach.

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Updates
During our recent trips, we also saw more Halloween merchandise at gift shops around Animal Kingdom, although we’re still waiting on the Halloween popcorn buckets to arrive in this park.
