Walt Disney World Annual Passes are back! Recently, we reported that Disney World, alongside Disneyland’s new Magic Key program, would be bringing back their Annual Passes.
Today, we’ve got some big news for you!
Annual Passes for Disney World are on sale NOW! Tickets are available on the Disney World website and are also available at the ticket booths at the four parks, the Ticket Center at Disney Springs, and via phone call at 407-934-7639!
Depending on what time you visit the Disney World website to purchase an Annual Pass, you may enter a Queue. (This screenshot was taken at 6:15AM EST, for example.)
If you already have park tickets, you may upgrade to an Annual Pass (or, if you currently hold an Annual Pass, you can upgrade them to the new Annual Passes with updated renewal rates). This morning at Hollywood Studios, there we’re big crowds, with many people going to the ticket booths to buy or renew Annual Passes!
The new Annual Passes are now only available in four different tiers. The highest tier is the Disney Incredi-Pass, which is $1,299 (plus tax), has no blackout dates, and has the ability to hold 5 park reservations at once. Then, we have the Disney Sorcerer Pass, which is $899 (plus tax), has some blackout dates, and has the ability to hold 5 park reservations at once. This tier is only available to Disney Vacation Club members and Florida residents.
Next is the Disney Pirate Pass, which is $699 (plus tax), has blackout dates during peak times and holidays, and has the ability to hold 4 park reservations at once. This tier is only available to Florida residents. The final tier is the Disney Pixie Pass, which is $399 (plus tax), has blackout dates on holidays, during peak times, and all weekends, and has the ability to hold 3 park reservations at once. This tier is also only available to Florida residents. Florida residents are also the only ones who can use a monthly payment plan for their Annual Passes.

Paul says
I was able to get one easily at 7am. Just a fun note, I bought a Pixie Dust Pass (which comes with 3 Park Reservation slots) and just because I was curious, I went in to see what message I would see if I tried to book a fourth, and I see they already have “Bonus Reservation” available to me for Tuesday, September 14th, at Epcot. So that would be a total of four park reservations if I were to take that one in addition to my three existing pass reservations.
Matt says
Is everyone already getting an end date for 9/8/22? It seems like the passes are being activated right away, instead of when you pick up at will call. I was not planning to activate mine until my trip in Feb 2022.
DFB Sarah says
Paul, we saw that bonus Park Pass in the system as well, so hopefully those will be a regular, frequent offering!
Sarah says
I’m DVC and wondering if there is an activate by date for the new passes? As I won’t be activating before 2023 but concerned they won’t be available to purchase then so was thinking of buying now.
Thanks

I currently have a park ticket for the end of October and am trying to upgrade/switch to an Annual Pass. There’s no way to do it onine apparently without getting on the phone and talking to someone and of course, all circuits are busy. . . I love Disney, but it’s beyond frustrating to be forced to talk to someone and not be able to get though.
Paul says
Sarah, agreed! It was nice to see that they had some bonus days already.
I was also pleasantly surprised to see the list of available hotels that allow you to be eligible for “resort” reservations that don’t count toward your annual pass allotment. It’s likely these have been the same hotels all along that allowed pass reservations, but I hadn’t noticed since I haven’t been an annual passholder since the reservation system started. For example, B Resort near Disney Springs gives you eligibility. That’s very cool. Here’s the current list of non-Disney hotels listed:
Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel
Walt Disney World Swan Hotel
Walt Disney World Swan Reserve
Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World
B Resort & Spa Lake Buena Vista
Doubletree Suites by Hilton Orlando
Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace
Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista
Holiday Inn Orlando – Disney Springs Area
Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista
Wyndham Lake Buena Vista
Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek
Waldorf Astoria Orlando
Shades of Green

Anyone else having trouble purchasing an annual pass??

Ive been on hold (from Michigan) since 7 am…it is now 12:40. I had the original check in and then handed off – that was 4 hours ago.
Berne says
Logged in at 7:15 & que wait time was less than 1 minute! Problem is that confirmation page said they sent me an email which I have yet to receive – email address was correct – should I be worried?
Sharon says
Got my pixie dust pass this morning. Perfect as I never go on weekends or holidays as it is. Epcot here I come!
J.R. says
Had a one minute wait online when we bought 2 Pixie passes at 7:25 this morning. We tried to buy it on the Disney app but a message told us that we couldn’t buy the passes on the app. We like the pixie pass because it is valid when the parks aren’t as crowded We don’t want to be in the parks when they are super crowded. We are going to activate the passes on December 1st because the new covid infection rates are too high now in Florida
Greg Burgess says
I have been on hold for 5 hours waiting to upgrade my 10 day tickets for October to Annual Passes. I can now recite all of the on hold messages. “…. once on the Homepage, you can click Make a Park Reservation button…”
Karen Carlson says
Have you heard of others having problems with the brand new passes? I purchased mine this morning. They are in my disney experience app…with an expiration of 9/7/2022. I couldn’t get through by phone, but managed to get a live chat. The castmember told me that they are having display issues and assured me that they are not activated.
My sister upgraded her unused park hoppers today to annual passes. Hers now shows expiration 7/7/2022.
Ken says
I am sorry, but I am confused. What is a park reservation…? Is it the new name for booking a former fast pass?
Emily Beason says
Been on hold almost 5 hours with no end in sight.
Randi Briggs says
I am curious though. The Incredi-pass says you can hold 5 park reservations at once. Does this mean 5 days or 5 trips? Mostly when we come to Disney World we stay 9 to 10 days to make it cost effective. Would we have to get through the first five days of our trip and then just hope we could get reservations for the remaining days?
Brandon says
DFB (URGENT!!!)
There seem to be a LOT of people having a discussion about…
… having prior Paid for and Reserved reservations (ie: for the 50th). Then when they upgrade to the AP, and those reservations are being canceled and they have to try to make new reservations.
BUT… I spoke with “AP VIPassholder Services” with THIS SPECIFIC QUESTION last week in anticipation for today.
They assured me EMPHATICALLY that all of my current reservations would be fine.
But many people are saying that official sources are claiming you WILL In Fact lose all current reservations upon upgrading.
DFB… Will you please confirm this?
Jim says
Bought Pixie Dust annual passes this morning. Will have to pay for first time parking, then go to guest relations for a refund and pick up annual pass. Just so you all know.
DFB Sarah says
Brandon, we will have a reporter talk to Guest Relations in person at one of the Parks today.
DFB Sarah says
Randi, five Disney Park Pass reservations means five days. If you are staying onsite in a Disney Resort, you’ll be able to book Disney Park Passes for every day of your stay and also maintain your original five Disney Park Passes that are attached to your AP. If you’re staying offsite, you’ll be able to make new Disney Park Pass reservations one at a time as you use your original five. So once you scan into a Park on day one of your trip, you can make a new DPP for day six, and so on.
DFB Sarah says
Ken, Disney Park Pass reservations are the reservations you need in order to enter a Park at Walt Disney World. Disney implemented DPP when the Parks reopened, with the goal being to control capacity levels. The system is sticking around. You can read all about it here.
DFB Sarah says
Karen, I had not heard of this problem, but I’ll pass this along to see what we can find out.
DFB Sarah says
Matt, another reader said this was a display error, according to Disney. I’ve asked the team to look into it.
DFB Sarah says
Sarah, checking into this!
Greg Burgess says
Good morning everyone. Yesterday was frustrating trying to get through to convert my tickets to annual passes. I was on hold all day and the system dropped my call a few times. Patience is important.
I did get to talk to a person last night who could no longer do a transfer to the AP conversion people since the queue was too long. Also I reached out over Facebook to the official WDW Passholder account. What I learned:
The person I talked to cautioned me that Park Reservations would most likely be cancelled so if I had them for a popular day like Oct 1 (which I do) that before the conversion is done make sure you ask if they would be cancelled. She also suggested just waiting until getting to the park and after Oct 1st do the conversion then or a few days later, making sure that I can get the Park Reservations that I need. I relayed that I was concerned that they may “run out” of AP’s. She said that was a rumor.
Then this morning in my conversation over FB with WDW AP account I received this message:
“I apologize for the frustration, Greg. While you are able to upgrade your current Theme Park ticket to an Annual Pass, please be aware when doing so, any active Disney Park Pass reservations booked with the original ticket will automatically cancel. I strongly encourage you to upgrade your current tickets on the last day of the ticket to preserve your October 1, Disney Park Pass reservation. Once you’ve entered Magic Kingdom Park you will be able to upgrade right away to your choice of Annual Pass right at Guest Relations. I hope this helps.”
This confirms that in my case my best course is to wait until after Oct 1st.
Hope this helps everyone!
Have a Magical Day!
-Greg
Jim says
My 2 Pixie Dust passes bought 9/8/ 2021 show an expiration date of 12/31/2099. I would say it’s display error.
Jim says
This is Jim again with the 12/31/2099 expiration. Have park passes for Oct. 5, 2021. So maybe after I enter the park on Oct.5 the expiration date will change to Oct. 4 2022. We will see.
Randi B says
Thanks Sarah, your answer helped a lot.
DFB Sarah says
Brandon, what a question. Okay, one of our reporters checked in person at Guest Relations yesterday, and he was told that those upgrading tickets would lose their Disney Park Pass reservations and that they should wait until the end of their trips and upgrade then (retroactively, is what it sounds like). However the language on Disney’s Annual Passholder page says:
In an effort to make the reservation program more seamless, on September 8, 2021, Walt Disney World Resort will introduce an enhanced theme park reservation calendar that shows booked reservations, park availability and blockout dates—and adds the ability to modify reservations. All current reservations will be maintained with the ability to make and modify additional new reservations as part of the update.
It’s unclear if this language only applies to current Passholders who renew and therefore already have AP DPPs in they system or if it should apply to everyone.
To further complicate things, another of our reporters renewed her Pass at GR, and the impression she got was that the system DID cancel her DPP reservations, and the CM just added them back into the system.
I feel like there’s too much conflicting information right now for me to feel 100% certain either way. I’ll keep peeling the layers back on this onion, and hopefully Disney will clarify precisely soon.
DFB Sarah says
Jim, hopefully so! Otherwise, your Pass is good for, well, a lifetime. Possibly that’s what displays until activation, as you’ve mentioned.
DFB Sarah says
Greg, thank you for sharing this!
