We do our best to try to keep up with all the construction, refurbishments, and reopenings at Disney World, so when anything pops up, we want to make sure you’re in the know.
Kali River Rapids
And we just found out about a refurbishment coming up soon that will close one popular ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
The ride is the water ride (SO much water) Kali River Rapids. When we checked Disney World’s refurbishment calendar, we noticed that the ride is set to close for refurbishment as of November 1st.

And, according to Disney’s website, the closure is expected to last through mid-December 2021. Though, keep in mind that this could change — sometimes refurbishments don’t take as long as expected, while at other times, refurbishments can take longer.
Update: Kali River Rapids is scheduled to reopen on December 16th, 2021.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the schedule, though, so you know exactly when a ride is scheduled to be down for refurbishment. So please keep checking DFB often!

Sad for this to be closed during my visit. The last time I was at WDW Animal Kingdom was being built, so I was really looking forward to everything has to offer.
I’m hoping that this doesn’t take as long as they are projecting. We are on our 4th reschedule of our visit since last year, and of course, it is during this refurbishment time. Our family loves rapids rides, so this will definitely be disappointing to not be able to ride on this…
