Are you headed to Disney World soon? Well, you’re going to want to know what to expect!
Mid-September is a GREAT time to visit Disney World when it comes to crowds. School is back in session and lots of folks are waiting to travel for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. If you’re packing to head to Disney World, we want to make sure you’re prepped with the weather forecast!
Weather Forecast
According to The Weather Channel, Florida summer weather is CERTAINLY not over yet. We’ve got rain and heat in store for us, but we’ll help with how YOU can prep for them!
Last week brought the return of a stormy week to Disney World, and it looks like we’ll see more of the same this week! Get ready for consistent weather (yay!) and…consistent rain chance (less yay).
September 13th
Monday, September 13th, brings us the same warm temperatures that we’ve been seeing in Orlando for months on end. As we mentioned, the temperatures are not going to vary a ton this week which makes it a little easier to pack!
Get ready for an 88 degree high and a 75 degree low. You’ll spot rain in the forecast on Monday — and get used to it! Every single day this week has a notable rain chance so it might be hard to enjoy
September 14th
The next day, September 14th has a similar forecast with another 88 degree high and the same 75 degree low. This is the highest rain chance of the whole week and it’s going to be a bit breezy too so be ready in case you get caught in a thunderstorm!
Unsurprisingly, humidity is HIGH this week with all that rain. Remember that it can feel a LOT hotter when it’s humid out so don’t underestimate the heat!
September 15th
On Wednesday, September 15th, we’re going to see yet another familiar-looking day. Actually, the high this day is the lowest of the whole week…by one degree. Funnily enough, this is the ONLY day that doesn’t have a high of 88 degrees!
Central Florida tends to get stuck with HIGH UV Indexes during the warmer months. This can be dangerous for your skin so make sure you’re wearing a LOT of sunscreen and reapplying often!
September 16th
For Thursday, September 16th, we’re seeing (Surprise!) another day with the exact same temperatures as earlier in the week. Get ready for an 88 degree high and a 75 degree low. On average, winds are higher this week but they shouldn’t be too disruptive.
Luckily, the evenings have a lower rain chance! We definitely prefer watching the fireworks with clear, rainless skies!
September 17th
Aaaaaand yet again, we have an 88 degree high and a 75 degree low. Did they just copy-paste the weather forecast this week? September 17th is bringing us more consistent temperatures!
The good thing about sometimes-stormy days is that you’ll have clouds hopefully providing some intermittent shade during the sunnier parts of the day!
September 18th
And on to Saturday, we’re seeing the same temperatures AGAIN. As a note, days are getting a liiiittle shorter this time of year, but you still have around 12 hours of daylight for your Disney day!
September 18th brings us an 88 degree high and a 75 degree low.
September 19th
Finally, we wrap up the week on September 19th with another 88 degree high and a 75 degree low. Plus, this day has the lowest rain chance of the whole week at 35% during the day and 34% at night!
This forecast is subject to change, but hopefully, we stick with those consistent temperatures!
Overview of the Week
Here is a full overview of the week according to The Weather Channel. Temperatures are projected to hang out in almost exactly the same place for the WHOLE week. We’re looking at a slight range of high 80 highs and all 75 degree lows.

Again, no matter how consistent a forecast might seem, Florida weather is FICKLE. You never know when you might see a sudden storm or change in temperature. Check out the forecast a few more times leading up to your trip to make sure you’re prepared!

Tips for Weathering the Weather!
Now we know what temperatures and weather we can expect next week, so here are some helpful tips!
How To Prep for Rain
As you can probably tell from the forecast, it is going to be RAINY this week. With scattered storms almost every day, you’ll probably see some rain and lightning while you’re in Disney World. Don’t fret! You can still have a good time — but you need to be prepared.
Pack a rain layer like a poncho or rain jacket in your park bag and put it in an easily accessible spot in case the rain comes on fast. It won’t do you any good if you get soaked before you can put it on! Also, when there are storms in the forecast you might want to prioritize those outdoor attractions earlier. Lightning tends to come in the afternoon and can close down favorites like Splash Mountain and Test Track!

How To Prep For Heat
If you’re traveling to Florida, you might not be used to the high temperatures and/or the high humidity. Do not underestimate it! It’s not only a matter of keeping you comfortable in the sun, but also keeping you safe!
You will likely be walking several miles in the sun and heat so make sure you listen to your body and take breaks when you need it. Plus, drink LOTS of water! We’ve seen plenty of guests get sick during the warmer months. Plus, wear plenty of sunscreen so you don’t end up with a painful burn!
