We’re used to seeing construction walls around Disney World as Cast Members update attractions and areas around the parks.
Recently we’ve seen some walls come down in Disney’s Magic Kingdom, both around the Main Street Confectionery and from in front of the Country Bear Jamboree. Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, however, we recently saw some new walls go up around a ride that has closed forever.
Primeval Whirl was a spinning fairground-type ride in DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The concept of the ride was that you were going back in time to see the meteor that made the dinosaurs go extinct.
In 2020, Disney World announced that the ride would be closed permanently, and when we saw the ride vehicles being towed away, we knew its fate was sealed. Now, we’re seeing even more progress on the ride’s closure as construction walls have gone up in front of the ride entrance.
There are opaque walls in front of the ride’s entrance…
…and mesh barriers up around the rest of the ride.
Does this mean that workers are going to start taking down the ride? More than likely. Fingers crossed that they are making room for something new to take its place!

I rode this coaster in 2010 and felt that with each ride you should have received a free Chiropractic appointment. Lol! The ride was fun, but they REALLY hit the mark recreating a vintage coaster experience. I enjoyed the mid-way atmosphere of that section in Animal Kingdom.
