There are quite a few new things coming to EPCOT as part of the park’s big transformation.
Soon, EPCOT will have an all-new fireworks show (Harmonious), a new Ratatouille attraction, a new creperie restaurant, and more. But before all of that, EPCOT’s new space-themed restaurant, Space 220, will finally open up for guests to enjoy! We know that the restaurant will be opening up in September, and we JUST found out what will be on the menu, but when will you be able to make reservations? We’ve got all the details right here!
Recently, Disney shared that Space 220 would officially open on September 20th, 2021. We’ve also gotten a peek inside this space-themed restaurant, some details about the menu, and more.
This new restaurant is doing something interesting when it comes to how you can dine here — from September 20th to September 26th, Space 220 will be available for walk-ins ONLY. You can’t make reservations for these days!
But for dates starting on September 27th, advance dining reservations for Space 220 will be available. These can be booked starting on September 20th.
In other words, if you’re looking to dine at Space 220 starting on September 27th or a date after that, you’ll be able to make reservations for your upcoming meal starting on September 20th (provided you’re within the appropriate reservations window).
Keep in mind that right now, reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance (but Disney Resort hotel guests can make reservations up to 60 days in advance, plus the length of their stay up to 10 days).
We expect that since Space 220 is a brand NEW restaurant, and since it’ll be opening so close to the start of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, it’ll likely be a very popular spot. So, if you want to eat here, you’ll want to mark your calendars and book those reservations as SOON as they become available!
Not sure what Space 220 is all about? Well, it is an immersive, space-themed restaurant located near Mission: SPACE in EPCOT’s Future World. To dine here, you’ll check in at the Space 220 Departure Lounge. Then, you’ll take one of the two “Space Elevators” up what seems like 220 miles to the Centauri Space Station.
Once at the space station, you’ll get to see some incredible views of Earth and other activities taking place outside the “windows.”
Space 220 will serve a prix fixe menu at both lunch and dinner.

We’ll be checking out Space 220 when it opens and we’ll be sharing all of our thoughts with you, so stay tuned for that. And be sure to check back with us here at DFB for all the latest Disney news and updates.

Thanks as always for the info! what time on the 20th do you think the reservations will open up?
Lisa M Sapp says
I was very excited to finally see this restaurant opening. However, I have to say the menu is very underwhelming. I expected something new and exciting but, it seems the menu items they chose can be found just about anywhere.
SwanandDolphinForever says
what time on 9/20 do reservations like this normally come online? I plan to make it on the Disney App.
DFB Sarah says
SwanandDolphinForever, Disney doesn’t typically announce a start time for Advance Dining Reservations, but we usually see listings by 7AM. They can be earlier; occasionally we see something that drops at midnight, and 6AM is a fairly common start time. So unfortunately I can’t give you a specific, guaranteed time. Good luck!
Olivia Trotter Stegall says
Wondering if ADR will also be needed for the lounge. Any best guess?
Disneymom says
Is Disney requiring u to have a park pass for Epcot the day u want to make your Space 220 rez? Big fan of your blog!! Thank u!!
Dee says
Is there a way to make reservations for the lounge at Space 220 or is it going to be strictly walk-in?
Anna E. says
How will walkins work on those days? Could we head there at rope drop to try to get a time for dinner that night or will it have to be walk up and wait no matter what time it is? Thanks!
Amanda says
Will we also need a reservation for the lounge? Or is the lounge walk-in?
David says
Will the lounge require reservations also?
Melanie Durham says
Oh I cannot wait to dine here! Thank you fir the information
Elizabeth Rodriguez says
Will there be a lounge area for people who only want to come for drinks and for the experience?
Vicky LaPorte says
I’m more interested in the lounge as the small plates available there sound better than the meals. Do you know if the lounge is near the main dining areas and will there be reservations for the lounge?
DFB Sarah says
Vicky, we don’t yet know the layout, but we will report after we dine. We’re also going to confirm that the lounge is first come, first served.
DFB Sarah says
Elizabeth, Space 220 does have a lounge.
DFB Sarah says
David, we’ll look into it. 🙂
DFB Sarah says
Anna, we’re not sure yet, but we will report on our experience on September 20!
DFB Sarah says
Amanda, we will check into this.
DFB Sarah says
Dee, we’ll confirm either way.
DFB Sarah says
Disneymom, at present Disney does not require a Disney Park Pass reservation to make Advance Dining Reservations. We’ll have to see if they change that policy for Space 220 (but I’d be surprised if they do…). I have seen language about reservations (specifically dessert party reservations) that says DPPs are required, but the fine print on that basically says that Park Hopping is not guaranteed and that a reservation for those parties isn’t a guarantee a guest can enter a park if that park is at capacity. My guess is that’s their way of kind of warning guests that capacity levels can disrupt their plans.
DFB Sarah says
Olivia, I would guess walk-up, but we are going to confirm on the 20th.
Marjorie Altman says
Trying to make dining reservations for 2 on Oct 13 with no luck this morning as told.
Linda says
I thought Space 220 was taking reservations on Sept 20th? I’ve been up since 5am trying to make reservations for 10/17 and it keeps saying not available. Are they not taking reservations today?
DFB Sarah says
Linda, they did start taking reservations today. Evidently they went VERY quickly.
