The 50th Anniversary is set to bring all kinds of new things to Disney World.
One of the perks that will be available starting on October 1st is Early Theme Park Entry. This special benefit gives all guests staying at Disney World Resort hotels and select other hotels the chance to enter any Disney World theme park 30 minutes early on any day! As we noted above, this perk was set to begin on October 1st, but it looks like plans have changed.
Recently, Disney World sent an email to those with upcoming stays at Disney World Resort hotels or other hotels eligible for the Early Theme Park Entry. The email notes that there will be a soft opening for the Early Theme Park Entry benefit starting September 26th!
According to the email, once a guest has arrived at the main entrance of the park of their choosing, they’ll need to look for the “Early Entry for Participating Hotels” signage.
Keep in mind that in order to enter one of Disney World’s theme parks early as part of the Early Theme Park Entry benefit, you will need (1) a valid ticket for the park you want to enter early; and (2) a valid Park Pass for the park you want to enter early. You also must be staying at a Disney World Resort hotel or one of the select other participating hotels that are eligible for this benefit. Click here to see a full list of eligible hotels.
We’ll keep an eye out for more updates and let you know what we find.

Does this work for guests staying at the Swan or Dolphin? I’m hearing conflicting remarks
Becca says
Do shuttles to the parks from the resorts typically run early enough for guests to take full advantage of the early opening?
DFB Sarah says
Becca, you can expect buses to start running 45-60 minutes before Park opening, which should give you time to get to the tapstiles and into the Parks for Early Theme Park Entry.
DFB Sarah says
Kevin, yes, Swan/Dolphin guests are listed as included in Early Theme Park Entry. You can see Disney’s official list here.
