There is SO much going on at Disney World. It turns out that getting the resort ready for the big 50th Anniversary celebration is a LOT of work!
So far, Cinderella Castle has undergone quite the transformation, Fantasyland has gotten a golden glow-up, and gold statues have popped up in the parks. The Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom has also been closed for some renovations, but now (a day ahead of its set reopening date) the Confectionery has opened its doors and we got a peek inside!
That’s right folks — the construction walls are down and the wonderful smell of candy and baked goods once again flows freely through the Main Street Confectionery!
We’ve already shared a look at the outside of the Confectionery, but we couldn’t help but share more photos of this wonderful spot’s exterior.
The windows of the Confectionery now feature the Confectionery logo as well as signs indicating it is The Home of Mars Candy Treats.
In the windows you’ll also find displays of baked goods…
…as well as a display featuring images from “The Sweetest Spoon Showcase,” presented by Mars.
Complete with a wreath made of candy, the display seems to show a bit of the updated backstory for this area, with several Sweetest Spoon winners pictured.
But enough about the outside — let’s head INSIDE this sweet spot!
The story of the Sweetest Spoon Showcase continues inside the Confectionery with signs about the showcase scattered throughout the space.
You’ll also find some beautiful banners for the Confectionery up in this refurbished spot, with a =vibrant blue and gold color scheme.
There’s a giant portion of the flooring in the center that has the words “Main Street Confectionery” on it. No mistaking what store you’re in while here!
The refurbished space itself feels very large thanks to its new layout.
In the center, you’ll find cases featuring a variety of tasty treats.
If you want to grab something from the case, you’ll order from the Cast Members that are working in the case area.
Then, they’ll give you a print-out ticket. You can continue shopping around for other things. When you’re ready to check-out, you’ll take your print-out ticket (and any other items you want to buy) to the Cast Members at the registers.
The Cast Members will have your order ready for you there.
Then, you’ll simply pay, pick up your items, and eat!
Just what treats will you find in the Confectionery Cases?

In this space, you’ll select from a variety of popcorn bases (caramel, rainbow, and more).
Then, you’ll pick what syrup you want to add to your popcorn. Some of the available syrups include dark chocolate and milk chocolate.
Next, it’s time to add the candies! You can choose from a variety of toppings here including M&M’S Milk chocolate, Skittles, Snickers, Pretzels, mini marshmallows, and other delicious options.
And then your tasty popcorn is all yours to enjoy!
The popcorn prices vary depending on what you want. You can get 2 toppings and a syrup for $12.99, 3 toppings and a syrup for $13.99, and you can add on additional toppings for $1.
The updated Confectionery also has an area called the “Color Kitchen.”
In this space, guests can mix and match candies to create their own custom bags.
There are a variety of Mars candies available here for you to pick from.
You can grab a bag with just 1 or 2 picks, or create a bag that’s as colorful as a rainbow.

…and a Glacier Kitchen with some drink options to pick from.
The glacier options include some standard flavors like blue raspberry and lemonade, but there are also more unique creations like The Orange Brrr’d, which comes with Fanta Orange, Vanilla Syrup, Hi-C Lime, Whopped Cream, and Gummie Worms!
Inside the Confectionery, you’ll also find a variety of pre-packaged sweet treats!
We spotted a number of chocolate items available from Ethel M Chocolates including Sea Salt Caramels…
…milk chocolate bars…
…peanut butter milk chocolate bars…
…and dark chocolate options.
There were also pre-packaged cookies…
…lollipops, M&M’S…
…Mickey Rice Krispies…
…Minnie Rice Krispies…
…and some items from Goofy’s Candy Co.
Looking for candy apples? You’ll find that here too! We even found one candy apple with gummy lifesavers!
There were 50th Anniversary snacks in the Confectionery too.
We found some 50th Anniversary popcorn, mints ($4.99)…
…milk chocolate with popping candy ($24.99), and more.
And if your favorite part of the Confectionery was being mesmerized by the Cast Members making those fantastic treats, you’ll find that in the refurbished Confectionery too!
In one area, you can peek through a window to the Cast Members that are hard at work making sweet treats inside.
And that’s a peek inside the refurbished Confectionery!

Kelly Andrew Wasilewski says
Are the Large Mickey-shaped Sugar Cookies gone?!?
Rich says
Looks a bit sterile. Missing some of the old Main Street look and feel.
Kris says
Can anyone confirm that the rice Krispy treats are made on site? Back in the day, they were made within the Main Street Confectionery and they were AMAZING! Later on, they were made somewhere else with added preservatives and other ingredients that made them taste awful. Please tell me with this refurbishment they went back to making them fresh!?
Janet says
I’m so happy it’s back and like the redesigned space but am disappointed with all the brand-name candy we can buy anywhere outside of WDW. Both the bakery, now a Starbucks, and the confectionery have lost the Main Street charm. The treats are okay but not as good as in the old days when every treat seemed more fresh, special, and better. (A few years ago, by the way, WDW changed the fudge recipe from the classic crumbly fudge to a soft gooey confection that doesn’t taste good.)
Erika York says
Hello AJ and DFB friends,
Can you tell me if the Selma Cookies are still available?
Johnna Hall says
Can you refill a popcorn bucket at the popcorn kitchen?
Ken says
Did they really have candied apples… with Granny Smith apples…?
A picture or two shows them, but none of the other locations anywhere on Disney property have them.
KJ says
Whoever did this redesign, needs a massive raise! This looks SO much BETTER, and easier to navigate than the old one.
DFB Sarah says
Ken, we’ll have a reporter check on this, and I’ll update this response when he sends me the intel. UPDATE: We were told by a Cast Member in the Confectionery that they’re red apples, so sadly no Granny Smiths.
DFB Sarah says
Johnna, you can not refill a popcorn bucket at the Popcorn Kitchen. If that changes, we’ll definitely update (because that would be awesome!).
DFB Sarah says
Erika, we aren’t seeing them this morning (I had a reporter check for you), but that doesn’t mean they won’t be there at some point. There’s the Minnie’s Sweets line available.
Bob R says
The rice krispy treats are not made on-site. I was there the other day looking for the giant Mickey treat and they are not currently carrying them. Not making them on site because of COVID restrictions. So I was told. A cast member told me they will return someday because they were popular. Good too!
Christy says
Did they bring back the giant Mickey head rice krispie treats??
Bob R. says
The old confectionery feel is gone. More of a Mars candy vibe. Miss the old store.
DFB Sarah says
Christy, we still haven’t seen them return.
