This Friday is Disney World’s big 50th anniversary!
The Most Magical Place on Earth is almost half a century old, and Disney is ready to celebrate with things like a new cavalcade, attraction, fireworks, and more! Something really exciting about the anniversary is all of the special merchandise being released. We’ve already seen 2 collections debut in Disney World, and now, another 50th anniversary collection is HERE!
The Vault Collection is now available at the Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs!
Disney said previously that the displays for the Vault Collection would be museum-like and would invite shoppers to learn about original Walt Disney World Resort attractions and hotels. The displays are supposed to “take you back to 1971 the moment you walk through the doors,” and we think they definitely accomplished that!
Included among the merchandise is info about the park opening 50 years ago.
We also get to see some vintage pictures and old tickets from when the park opened!
One photo shows the construction on Cinderella Castle and Roy Disney!
You can also see them working on Jungle Cruise and Fantasyland!
Behind one of the registers is an original park map showing what Magic Kingdom looked like back in 1971.
In one display, there is a glass encasing original park tickets, listing all of the Opening Day Attractions. Many aren’t there anymore, but a few very popular rides are still around and thriving!
The displays fit in perfectly with the merchandise.
We would definitely agree that Disney is making 50 look magical!
There are also photo opportunities with vintage props like this ride vehicle from Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride!
Orange Bird is getting some love, too with this display and photo op of a replica sculpture!
This new collection has SO many fun items, so stay tuned to DFB and we’ll show you everything the Vault Collection has to offer!

I’m old enough to remember actually riding in Mr. Toad’s car! Also, being able to drive to the Polynesian Resort, park for free, and also be able to afford rack room price for my three day stay there.
Wouldn’t it be loverly?
