There’s a whole lot to experience at the 2021 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival!
Between the food booths, merchandise, and activities, you could spend days just checking out everything there is to see throughout EPCOT. We’ve already shared FULL reviews of every single booth at this year’s festival (save for the booths that haven’t opened yet). But now, a brand NEW dish has arrived at one of the food booths and we just had to go check it out!
Over at Brew-Wing at the EPCOT Experience, you can find a whole bunch of chicken wings in a variety of flavors, as well as some beers and other drinks. But, recently, this spot became home to a brand new dish — Brussels Sprouts!
These are listed on the “snacks” portion of the menu and are described as Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Buffalo Sauce. Our Brussels also featured “blue cheese crumbles” and a ranch drizzle — but both of these are vegan options as the dish is plant-based. Disney specifically defines its plant-based dishes as ones that are made without animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey.
The Brussels sprouts are made to order, so they take about 5 minutes to come out of the kitchen. That’s just something to keep in mind as you go to order them!
Brussels sprouts might not have been one of the first dishes you would have thought of ordering at the Food & Wine Festival, but these were delicious!! They were cooked perfectly — evenly cooked throughout with a nice crunch. There weren’t any soggy pieces, which can be a concern with Brussels sprouts sometimes, so that was nice!
While they did have a nice crunch, we wouldn’t exactly consider them to be “crispy.” We do think that if they had a crispier outside layer, these would be even better. But, truthfully, they’re quite wonderful just the way they are!
The ranch drizzle and blue cheese crumble (again, both vegan as the dish is plant-based) added a nice creaminess to the dish, and helped cut down some of the heat from the buffalo sauce. The buffalo was a nice medium level — not overly spicy, but enough of a kick to give the dish a good flavor.
If you are a big Brussels sprouts fan and you like buffalo sauce, we have a feeling this dish will be a total win for you!
Even if you aren’t a huge blue cheese fan, we still think you could enjoy this dish. The plant-based blue cheese mostly just added some creaminess — it wasn’t really strong in terms of a traditional blue cheese flavor. If you really dislike buffalo sauce though, this won’t be a good pick for you as that is a very prominent flavor.
If you want to give these Brussels sprouts a try, you can head over to Brew-Wing right now and snatch them up for $5.
You never know what new dishes might pop up at the Food & Wine Festival, so we’ll keep an eye out for more updates! Heading to the Food & Wine Festival? Check out our video below for some of the Best of the Fest items!
