Now that Early Theme Park Entry has started for resort guests at Disney World, Rope Drop is looking a little different these days.
We’ve already shown you what Early Theme Park entry crowds look like at EPCOT, but what do the crowds look like later for those guests without early entry? Let’s find out!
To jog your memory, here’s what Early Theme Park Entry looked like at EPCOT on September 26th, when it first started for resort guests. Note that Early Theme Park Entry allows guests staying at select Disney World resorts to enter any park 30 minutes before the official opening time.
By comparison, today’s crowds for guests without early entry looked about the same.
We might have thought the crowds would look different for Early Entry and the official rope drop time, but there doesn’t seem to be much of a difference.
Prior to the start of Early Entry, Disney would often allow guests into the parks about 30 minutes early. Now, you have to be a hotel guest to enter early. Otherwise, you will be held near Spaceship Earth until the parks officially open.
We’ll see how this looks tomorrow once the big 50th Anniversary Celebration kicks off — we’re sure to see more people as a whole throughout the resort. It’s going to be a HUGE day for Disney World. And stay tuned because we’ll be there covering it!

this has become a big mess that has to be changed, they are opening this park way too late, we have already submitted complaints to disney. They are witholding masses of crowds out in the sun, too close together, nowhere to sit, its just stupid and not wise.

Maybe Disney is beginning to realize that they may have taken away too many perks and freebies. They are making a visit to the parks a race instead of an enjoyable family adventure. New management is clearly not guest focused by confusing us all with all of the changes…
