Disney World’s 50th anniversary is FINALLY here, and now we get to try 150 NEW food and drink items!
As Disney World rolls out 150+ food and drink items over the next 18 months, from popcorn buckets and sippers to snacks and treats, we’re eating our way through the 50th anniversary. Today we tried a new space-themed food and it wasn’t at Space 220, so let’s dig in!
In Magic Kingdom, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is a quick-service spot with a menu that features classic counter service food like burgers, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets, and now there’s a new burger to try. So far we’ve seen so many delicious foods at Magic Kingdom today, and one dish we tried was the new 50th anniversary Mission to Mars Burger at Cosmic Ray’s!
After a LONG 100 minute wait for our mobile order, we finally got to try the Mission to Mars burger! This treat features a Burger topped with Bacon and Macaroni & Cheese served on a Bun dusted with Crushed Cheese-flavored Puffs and served with French Fries available for $12.99.
We thought this burger was a little bit dry (most Cosmic Ray’s burgers are a bit on the dry side!) but the mac & cheese was creamy and gooey! The bacon had a nice crunch and the cheesy dust on top was a nice (but messy!) touch to the burger. This is definitely an Instagram-worthy treat, but it’s not necessarily the best burger you’ll find at the 50th Anniversary!

We also got the Burger to the Moon, which is an Impossible Burger with Guacamole, Tomato and Cabbage Slaw, served with French Fries for $11.49!
We thought this burger was a bit of a dusty mess. Yes…DUSTY. The flour on top of the bun was VERY prominent and the burger itself didn’t have much flavor. It didn’t seem like this one had much salt or seasoning in general. The only flavor we got was the Impossible patty followed by the taste of flour. We definitely don’t recommend this one (we mean, unless you want to eat a dusty burger).
So if you want to try a space burger without visiting Space 220, this is the place to be! Keep reading DFB as we make our way through ALL the 50th Anniversary food and drinks!

Melissa M Hodgdon says
Hi! Do you know if it’s possible to get the Mission to Mars burger but have the burger patty switched out for the Impossible plant based patty?
DFB Sarah says
Melissa, it may be possible, but I don’t know for sure.
Sammie says
Is this burger still available?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Sammie! Sadly, the Mission to Mars Burger has come and gone.
