Can you believe we’ve made it to October 1st?!
To many people, it is just another day, but to Disney fans it is one of the most important days! Disney World is officially 50 years old and Disney is celebrating big with TONS of new food, new shows, new decor, and so much more. We’ve been checking out a lot of the eats around the theme parks and resorts, but now we’re trying a sweet treat from Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Hollywood Studios doesn’t have a lot going on compared to other parks like Magic Kingdom, but there are plenty of new eats to try over here! Right now, we’re stopping by Rosie’s All-American Cafe for a twist on a classic treat.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios 50th Celebration Sandwich Cookie has strawberry jam and peanut butter-chocolate fudge on a pretzel shortbread cookie!
The fondant piece on the top of the treat features a film reel of the “highlights” we’ve seen over the year in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including the MGM Water Tower, Sorcerer Mickey’s Hat, and the Hollywood Tower Hotel. And, even though we love this nod towards the park’s history, we’re sure you’re wondering how this sandwich cookie stacks up to other 50th anniversary treats!
Well, it turns out this is the type of treat that can be DIVISIVE — you might love it (like some of our reporters) or you might really dislike it (like another one of our reporters).
On the hate-it side: Our reporter who disliked this treat felt like there were too many flavors going on and the cookie just wasn’t sturdy enough to hold them! To them, the sandwich ended up becoming too mushy, taking away some brownie points. Plus, they felt like the piece on top didn’t add to the flavor and almost felt unnecessary (even though the look of it is pretty awesome)! Overall, this treat was a fail for one of our reporters.
On the love-it side: For some of our other DFB reporters, this treat was a total HIT! In fact, one of our fabulous reporters said that this is actually one of their favorite 50th anniversary treats. For these reporters, the sandwich was a wonderful combination of salty and sweet. The pretzels in the shortbread were a welcome addition, giving the treat that touch of saltiness and crunch. The treat, in their opinion, was filling enough to be a light breakfast, but it could also make for a good snack.
If you like peanut butter and jelly as a snack, these reporters think you’ll absolutely LOVE this treat. Not a PB&J fan? Then you’ll want to look elsewhere to satisfy the grumbling in your tummy!
So, which side are you on? Team Celebration Sandwich Cookie or Team Get Another Cookie? If you’re not a fan of peanut butter and strawberry flavors, this treat might not be a good fit for you. If you’re in that group but still craving a cookie in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we might suggest snagging the Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie instead.
But, if the idea of peanut butter-chocolate fudge, strawberry jam, and a pretzel shortbread cookie sounds like a treat made in heaven, then you can grab this tasty item and try it during your next trip for $5.29!
We’ll keep you updated on the latest from Disney World’s 50th anniversary throughout the day, so keep following along!
