Today is Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary!
We’re here in the parks checking everything out for the celebration — from fireworks to merchandise to food! And boy oh boy, there is a LOT of new food here. Disney announced some interesting treats for the anniversary, including a very unique dessert that you’ll never guess the theme of!
This is the Uncle Orville Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow Sundae!
It’s chocolate and vanilla soft-serve, brownie pieces, hot fudge, and whipped cream topped with red, white, and blue sprinkles served in a “bathtub.” You can find it at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Tomorrowland.
If you don’t know who Uncle Orville is, he’s a character from Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress. You can see him sitting in a bathtub during Act 2 of the attraction, set in the 1920s. He’s known for his line, “No privacy at all around this place!” which can also be heard throughout other scenes of the attraction. Fun fact: the animatronic is voiced by actor Mel Blanc, who is famous for voicing Bugs Bunny!
So, it makes sense that this sundae is served in a bathtub!
We thought this treat was pretty much your basic brownie sundae! The brownies reminded us of the brownie mix you can buy at the grocery store (in a good way!) and there was plenty of delicious soft serve. This was a cute treat that’s perfect for sharing (or gobbling down by yourself to recharge from the huge crowds!).

Cute…but expensive…

Your picture shows it as $16.99, but if you look online at the Auntie Gravity menu on the Disney website it says that it’s $23. Can you confirm the price is still $16.99???
DFB Sarah says
Lynn, that’s a good question. We have an updated photo from 10/5 that also shows $16.99, but I don’t see the Uncle Orville treat on the online or app menus anymore. I believe there was an issue with sourcing the bathtubs, so let me see if the on-site reporters can sort this out.

I went today 2/28, and the cast member told me they offered this treat on the first day of the 50th celebration last year, sold out, and never offered the sundae again
